The presets are very inspiring and quite numerous too. I don't own the previous one so I don't know how much of a step up the v2 is, but it sounds very, very good to my ears. It also appears to be quite kind to the CPU in comparison with DCAM and U-he ACE. But it still sounds even better IMHO.....an online quote from gearslutz

Found that in a discussion about the controller and impOSCar 2..no figures about a cpu hit but it might help if you've tried DCam or Ace...I have both of 'em but don't like them as much as impOSCar 2. I'm an unimaginative preset junkie (chronic headaches).

I scored my controller for $999 australian, free delivery from wherever Awave is to Brisbane and $50 off my next purchase.

You could get cheeky and email an offer...

:D
I'm tired of being insane. I'm going outsane for some fresh air.

Another thought if you are in the UK...
KVR member Rob Lee has dealings with one of the guys responsible for the controller...his real job is restoring analog synths...he may have an unsold controller taking up valuable space collecting cobwebs..

I love impOSCar2, here's a review I wrote for it:

For the same patches, the 32 bit version should be pretty much the same, the 64 bit version slightly better (I rewrote assembler optimizations to make use of the extra registers, haven't made any measurements, but users did report improvements).

Of course there are extra features in version 2 that can increase CPU load, unison being an obvious one (and many of the new patches use unison, Dave seemed incapable of turning it off once I added it!)

@ JonHodgson:

Mr. Hodgson, do you plan any further improvements or additions to Imposcar2? Maybe a version 3? Or it'll be just small bug fixes from now on?

There are a few things I would like to add (which I'd rather not discuss, since I don't want to raise people's hopes and expectations), whether they will warrant a version 3 moniker I don't know.

But there's only one of me, and so many other ideas to work on too, so I don't know when I'll have the time.

Thanks Jon.

You did an outstanding job on this by the way
I'm really loving it.

Will definitely spring for V2 when funds allow 8)

One thing I've not yet been able to work out: is it possible to reset the LFO at the beginning of each note?

Please add oscillator sync to Imposcar 2 if you can :) Imagine the downright filth you could create with sync, unison and that Imposcar filter <3

Thanks, I'm glad you like it.

Incidentally, when I did the 64 bit update I also made the demo version rather more usable, the amount of time before the demo restriction (a little vinyl like crackle in the output) is much increased initially and then tied to the number of times you've loaded the project, the idea being that if you reach the point where it's really an issue, you've also reached the point where you're using the impOSCar seriously and so should really be purchasing.

In version 2, if you're syncing to tempo, then yes, there are the "RT" sync settings, but not in version 1.

Hmmm, I wonder what is more important than Imposcar? Please do tell us, if it's music related.

My suggestion for Imp would be a switch to place the fx before the filter.

If you need more valuable ideas, just ask... :hihi:
