mcnelson - it occurred to me you may have misunderstood my statements of generalities and thought I may be diminishing your efforts.
In no way was this my intent, as for what you have described you have served due diligence and have had a bad experience.
I was only stating that often is this case when exercise of proper attempts are not made and unwarranted statements occur.
I hope no misunderstanding took place.
Happy Musiking!

OK, then I understand why you bid on in the auction.TheoM wrote:Um trust me on this man, don't. I tried to buy it second hand off someone once and they just don't answer emails, they never did the transfer. If they won't answer an authorisation email they won't answe one for a second hand sale which doesn't benefit them in any way
You sent the PM to that second-hand seller a minute before me a couple of months back, snatching it right in front of my nose
But in the end I was lucky? I mean that seller was trying a scam?

I LOVE the synth and don't really want to sell it - but even if I did, I wouldn't, for the reasons above....I don't want to bum someone else out by having them suffer the same fate as me.TheoM wrote:I bid on it cause I love the sound but I had a maximum I would pay for it, that transfer never happened I waited a while then politely asked for a refund. They just wouldn't do the transfer.Numanoid wrote:OK, then I understand why you bid on in the auction.TheoM wrote:Um trust me on this man, don't. It wasn't a scam as he was keeping me in the loop and they did reply to him once saying they would attend to it shortly, then another week passed with nothing in my inbox and I gave up.
Being on mac the CR process is so much more reliable, but I'm still not sure what I am doing with myself, now especially that I won Orion for my windows laptop.
I still want circle someday but I just don't trust them. I have first hand experience of this.
Just an update - PM'd Gavin on Friday before posting my last, awaiting a response. I don't expect one to be honest
Planning my next move.

No, it's in the OUTBOX so it's unread by the recipient as of right now. I'm going to give him a few days to respond before I take things further...as he's also got three other emails from me, sent to both FAW addresses, from the past two weeks to respond to.
The situation is not lost; if there's a good reason for the inactivity then I invite him to return to the thread and state it - or if there is no good reason,at least admit to a failing in this case and offer to put things right. No one is asking for the moon on a stick, just the ability to activate the software.
You can't possibly reconcile this:

My overall Circle experience has been very sad apparently. Including trying to sell it to TheoM.
One thing I never got really clear - I wrote tickets. I've seen the ticket numbers and basically, between 2 tickets of myself only like one number in between. In theory, FAW doesn't get spammed with a huge amount of support issues, as far as I can tell. Still they take just that little too much for my taste and didn't managed to pass a new customer his license.
And I generally don't scam people.
(Says my feedback
)

Just as an update to my activation requests, they got back to me within 1-2 days (hate to post an issue and not follow up that it was resolved). I do wonder if theres some wierd spam blocking type thing going on as Ive never really had issues with contacting them. When I bought it second hand the transfer was handled within a day or two

Prior to the latest attempt, only on my previous laptop, and due to hard drive changes and the like, maybe 3-6 at most? I think I once activated online and then was never able to again and had to activate using the offline method after that. The literature says you can activate on three computers, and IIRC doesn't indicate how many times you can activate on those computers.TheoM wrote:By the way to the OP, how many activations did you use before it decided not to give you anymore?
I'm pretty sure I had a problem with figuring out my first offline activation (due to UAC), and they got back to me fairly quickly and were quite helpful - but that would have been 18-24 months ago (I bought Circle, new, in March 2011). This is why I'm totally shocked at the current situation as it's far from what I have experienced in the past.
I can't see it being an email blocking thing as I have received 2-3 responses from them since 23rd September - but they just ended up repeating "it should work like we say". And Gavin would have very easily been able to contact me via PM when he responded to this thread on Friday.
Disheartening.

Just wanted to say that FAW Circle is one of my most used soft synths. I love it. And it has, imo, the best functional GUI of any of the modular/semi-modular soft synths out there {with it's colour coding, and nodes, you can see at a glance how the patch is built virtually without even thinking about it. This is a brilliant achievement considering and especially because they're not using a 'wire' paradigm, which can be confusing even with modest patches}. You can import your own waveforms, you can use oscillators {As well as imported waveforms} as lfos, both at audio rate and standard rates. The keyboard modulation, velocity modulation, effects modulation, and cross modulation possibilities are all excellent. It's simply a joy to patch with. The included libraries are kool too.
It's got to be in the top 3 bargains of all commercial soft synths for 49euro/$69. Slow email response not-with-standing, it's worth three times that, easily imo. The development is slower, but then again it is only 49 euro. I've had a reported bug fixed {though it was very easy to work around, and only effected an outdated version of one particular host. yet they still fixed it for me.}
Of course, it sux that OP is having probs getting activated, that's a documented issue and I feel sorry for anyone who gets stung by it. It hasn't affected me on OSX, though I have noticed the sometimes sluggish turnaround in email exchanges. For me, considering everything this synth offers me for the price, I don't get bothered by this. But really, anyone who has issues with the slow turn around over used license sales and wants to buy the synth should probably take stock of the situation and buy new and direct. Or suck it up and deal with the slowness, improving on the 49 euro {new} price would have to be worth it, imo.
I'll never sell my copy, and only hope the guys have the resources to wow us with a FAW Circle 2. In the end, it's one of the most slept on synths out , a secret weapon, and I think the guys who developed it should have a prominent place in the functional GUI hall of fame. I wish all synths adopted their GUI.

Totally agree. And remember, it only came down in price in the last year - prior to that it was listed at £149 on the FAW website. Mine cost me around £75 I think.
