Just searched my music collection for the word "future". The result was ... erm ... a collection of the past, so to speak. :D

Weak lyrics, outdated styles and/or sounds, not a single song would be valid to challenge the "future". I was surprised, really. Didn't expect it. :o

What's your collection saying? Is there a song that will make it into the future (2014 and later)?

It makes sense if you know the full episode.

Sorry, no telly o'er here. ;)

But to mention something timeless: Madar by Jan Garbarek, Anouar Brahem and Shaukat Hussein...

The breeze of thousands of years... still valid.

An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

It's on HULU if you're in the US, but can be found through many channels as well.

Else:

and let's not forget this monster (until 20:33min):

And if that's not enough yet, take a closer listen to "The Protomen" albums, first Act 2, then Act 1 (which is the chronological order)

(not the best remix, but definitely better video than the original Genesis one)

Oh, and whatever you want to interpret into MUSE's lyrics, but...

Same with "Uprising" (where I read a lot of political comments on the official video!) and "Shrinking Universe"

Great suggestions, folks!

Another one, unfortunately in german, called "Der Traum ist aus" (The dream is over). Short translation of Rio's introduction: "Wrote this song in the beginning of the 70s. The strange thing is that it doesn't get older..."

Now, another 20 years later, one has to agree: it does not get older.

Ah, Rio Reiser, the "König von Deutschland" mit "Keine Macht für Niemand", unforgettable. He died too soon...

This is my favorite Rio Reiser song, "Junimond", one of the most-covered songs:
