Ok, so I just got a crapload of stuff from my friend, and there's a bunch of samples on the disk and along with them are .akp files. The folder is labeled AKAI CD's, and contain folders of akai cd's and samples and the akp files...
Can I somehow use these files or do I have to map all the samples again?? Can I somehow open these .akp files in either Kontakt or Halion??

plz help me :) there are 5 cd's, 500+ meg each and I'm not in the mood for mapping all that ;)

CDxtract will read and convert those AKP files.
Perhaps Kontakt will even import them directly, but I won't happen to know about that.

Extreme Sample Converter will do it...

Although it messed up the filter settings on some .akp files I tried. Try the demo and see - the only demo limitation is the output files will be 10 bit. Kontakt can import AKAI 'partitions' (Removable Media or Hard Drives) or banks (.akb I think?), but not patches (.akp).
