Drums came from Zero-G's Nu Metal pack (in PureREX). So they're loops. Else I could have used SSD3 EX, but I was too lazy.

Bass initially had BOD1.1 on it, but it didn't cut through (wasn't agressive enough), so I turned up the Ignite Amps Bass Amp in return. I settled with a fingered bass on neck pickup. Picked didn't work for me. (using Pettinhouse - I don't have any further agressive bass guitars).

Guitars originally had 4 cabinet slots each (2 mics for each side), while the more bass intensive ones were slightly more panned towards the middle. I turned off the cabinets to the right with the Strat on the left, and the cabinets to the left with the LPC on the right. Resulting in the lowend mics being panned like 60% off center, and the high frequency mics about 90%. Which in turn made room for the bass.

It was a test anyway. And the result came out better than expected.

EDIT:
Speaking of testing...

If the "demo period" runs out (after 30 days), I'm asked to at least buy one cabinet. But... are the two bundled ones free of charge and I only need to get a third one?

The answer is yes. Btw what they told me was you'll just get a nag screen after 30 days. I don't know for sure.

Guess I'll have to wait and see then. :hihi:

So... 2 stock remain free, and I got a couple of recommendations by a fellow musician... enough to get me started. Amp head wise, I'm pretty much covered.

Got word from the developers.

My findings were confirmed as bug - one being that messing with settings result in random full ASIO load spikes in the 32bit version. That will be fixed and an update is due next week.

The other thing with general stability will be looked into at a later point (as the devs don't have access to C7 yet). To those that have a huge ASIO load in C7 32bit on Windows, you can try several things:

a) Freezing the whole channel (incl plugins)
b) only use one channel for "printing"
c) try bridging that plugin for example with jBridge (32->32)
d) use the x64 version in C7 x64

This is what I call support.
No BSing, good communication within a reasonable ammount of time and open ears for FR's.

End of last week (Friday), I got note of Torpedo being updated to v3.0.24 Beta.

It fixes random ASIO spikes (especially in Cubase) in the 32bit version. But, random high ASIO load can still happen in C7 x64 especially with presets that use more than 2 cabinets (extreme example: the 6 cabinet presets).

Still an outstanding tool considering how much you have to invest.

it's back to very long load times again. haven't played with it much since the update though, so can't comment more on the update.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

New cabs are out for anyone interested.

More new cabs.

I have a love/hate relationship with this plug. There are times when I feel like it's just awesome, but then sometimes not so much. Very stable. Not happy about how long it takes to load

Post

I found this thing buggy as hell, but it gets a good rep in pro circles. Is it more stable now?

Post

I don't have any problems with stability, just with how long it takes to load.

Indeed. It drives me insane, especially because it locks everything up while it does whatever the hell it's doing. I certainly use it a lot less casually because of this.

Post

Weird. It's totally stable for me, and loads in like half a second. I only have about a dozen cabs, though. Maybe that has something to do with load times?

Specs, and where is your license loaded? That is what it says it's doing with the load.

Post

Mac Pro 2008, 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core, 10 GB RAM. Also, my boot drive is an SSD, which surely helps with load times. The license is copied to Application Support on the Mac, which is on the SSD.
