I just browsed KVR main page, since it's the first item from start i clicked on it and watched nice video with bad music but anyway what i am missing here can someone explain me?

How on earth this is anything about revolution and how is this thing pointed as a thing for a new world change. And then there is library of reversed sounds.

Ok...reversed sound...ok..

For the past decade all samplers i played with had function of reversing samples, even the most basic free audio editors have it, even free batch editors have it, many people use and used this "reverse" sound in production. All in all it was always like that.

Why this product is revolutionary ? Surely it is not about reversed sound being default at the library of 1000+ presets? Nice GUI? No that isn't revolutionary either. Big library..no not..

What?

Why does the world move forward? (it's quote from video)

Jesus lord why does every company out there claiming their product is revolutionary when at it's lowest level it is something what we had since always ?? :x

edit: this seems equally astonishing (if not far more usable) and (surprise) they are not claiming that they will change world with it..

Maybe for people who are too lazy to reverse everything themselves? :?:

Anyone who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.

There's probably a market for it.
Especially an iPad market.
DJ's should love it.

But who do they think they are to posit the world moves forward just because it only goes in one direction?
That is pure hubris. :P

The lad sitting on his roof [video @ 1:28] with his laptop seems to like it anyway.

I'll make some Neandertal stone age samples with cave reverb to celebrate the Backward Revolution! :P

Slogan suggestions ...

''Backward is the new forward''
''The future is retro''

"Forward never, backward ever." :hihi:

maybe you take ad-copy a bit too seriously...Revolution provided an obvious play on words for them, end of story. It's effin' advertising, man.

and god forbid the makers of a Kontakt sample library release something that isn't already on the market.

yes, samplers can easily reverse samples. but to make playable, chromatic patches out of the samples, you'd have to go in and reverese every one. Easy, sure, but have you bothered? Are you suggesting that entering kontakt and hitting reverse on every sample will equal the presets of this library? I mean, obviously the point here is that you get a vast sample library of (hopefully) cool presets to tweak, and there's a gimmick to what the collection is all about -- in other words, it's just like any other sample library you might buy for kontakt.

Sure, sure, sure, I can agree with that sort of.

That kid on the roof wants to be a DJ, but his mom won't spring for Traktor and an iPad. He thinks he can convice her with this though.

(Either that or they actually filmed him watching porn). :hihi:

Have you guys actually watched the **other** videos at their website? There is an in-depth walkthrough of their product, and to my ears, this sounds like an incredibly well done library. It's not just 'reversed samples', but they obviously started by reversing sounds so that they are tempo-synced and playable, and then expanded that concept much beyond the initial idea. The interface allows quick manipulation, stutter effects, and much more - and I can imagine that this is quite useful for a lot of musical applications, from film to dance to ambient music. Personally, I like what I hear in the demo videos.

Sure, everybody can reverse samples - you can reverse hundreds and thousands of samples if you have the time (according to their website, it's a 14 GB library). But instantly trying a lot of alternative risers and tempo-synced reverse sounds, instead of tweaking individual samples ad nauseam can be handy, too, no?

IMHO, they provide you with a specific sound and aesthetic - like some other dedicated libraries out there. So what's wrong about that, and why all the hate?

Yes, their advertising is probably a bit too polished and too mainstream for KvR. But how can you please KvR anyway?

Btw, I am not connected to their company or paid by them or a sock puppet (check how long I am member of KvR, if you don't trust me...). However, I just find it a bit unfair to bash a product just from a promo trailer, before somebody actually tested the product...

Post

Collab anyone? Guess it'd be fun if KvR members join to produce a highQ, top-marketing, ultra-modern promo-vid for...

...Synth1. :D

People who publish a not-to-be-taken-seriously advertisement video about "the revolution of the reverse" don't need to be surprised if other people are making fun of it...

Well, East West sells a library that primarily consists of sampled distorted sounds (and got rave reviews...), there are quite a few libraries with time stretched sounds, and a lot of ambient and cinematic libraries consist of reversed or down-pitched samples... You could easily achieve most of this with a sampler and some effects plug ins, too. So I don't get it why this deserves so much hate before somebody even tried it (except that the promo is not according to the taste of some).

Yeah, you might find their promo silly - but maybe the product isn't so silly, after all? At least what they have in their walkthroughs and in the product description looks and sounds pretty nice. But again, this is KvR, and witch hunts are fun, no? (However, if I was the developer, I wouldn't find this so funny - it looks as if a lot of work and dedication went into this product - but maybe that's just me.)

Well, I am out before I am killed by the lynch mob. Let the flame begin... :-(
