I'm literally having a breakdown right now... I left my Nexus2 flash drive in the wash overnight.. It doesn't work now.. I don't mind buying a new flash drive, but my worry is that I will lose my settings saved in the regions??? I hope not! Will logic save my nexus settings for that region if i buy a new one? please help.
Thanks
Thanks

What kind of regional settings? Settings like parameters. They are saved in the project, not on the dongle.
Finally!

I have no idea what you're asking, lol.. I think so... Yeah, and I meant to say dongle. it's called dongle, not flash drive...cyphersuit wrote:What kind of regional settings? Settings like parameters. They are saved in the project, not on the dongle.
Yeah, my concern was just if i get a replaced/new dongle, and put it in my laptop, go into my logic - will i lose my settings for region or whatever preset i was using?
Also, do they replace the dongle, or do i have to buy a brand new one? how does that work?
like i said - if i have to buy new one.. no biggie.. I just don't want to lose my work in logic, and have it all reset to nothing once i put a new one in.
Thanks

Before going into panic mode, give it a chance to dry.
Take a hair dryer and gently dry the dongle. Not on high heat! Try to tap out any water inside by tapping it against your palm (not the palm planted in the pot in the corner.
)
Although now that you have tried to use it and plugged it in you probably fried it. Lucky you didn't fry your 'puter or yourself
the dongle is only holding the license to Nexus2 (and anything else you have on it.
cyphersuit is trying to tell you the song settings are saved with the song. Any changes you made to Nexus2 instrument is saved with the song, not on the dongle.
Good luck!

I forgot to mention - that the dongle went thru the dryer too, my bad
.
it was when i took my clothes out of the dryer, did i discover the dongle. fortunately, it wasn't wet or i didn't harm my computer like you're saying.
I'll see what the instructions on ths site support are for replacement. If not, I'll have to buy a new dongle. And i know refx logs your expansion packs downloads in your account, so i'm guessing all i'll have todo when i have a new one, is load those again..
But yeah, my biggest concern was the region settings.. thanks for the feedback.

Lesson learned, right?
Always check those pockets before washing. Never know, you could find that $100 bill you thought you lost.
I can promise you it is wet inside. Doesn't take much to cause a short. I'd try to get it thoroughly dry and see if it will work again.
Hope it all works out good for you Extreme-G.

Yeah, those things generally don't fail too easily except with age (especially if they're cheaper ones).
There was an experiment done a few years back to see what it took to destroy solid state drives of different kinds, and the only thing that really did damage was nailing them to a tree!
I'd agree with putting it somewhere dry and warm to dry it out completely first to see if it's still working.

oh gosh, I should have learned my lesson a long time ago after I've left my ipods in my pants pocket various times when doing the wash.. lol it's a matter of me taking that extra step of not being too lazy to take it out & put it in a safe locationdsan@mail.com wrote:Lesson learned, right?

Just curious; did that result have anything to do with the gutter spikes they were using?robojam wrote:Yeah, those things generally don't fail too easily except with age (especially if they're cheaper ones).

Can't imagine why a common nail would cause any problems
Course, I can't imagine why they thought nailing them to a tree would NOT hurt them

And let me guess - Congress funded this study with a $2M grant right?

always wear pantaloons while producing!
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

Depending on what you are producing, pantaloons, pants and panties may not be wanted.

As far as I know, unless you can prove to Refx that your license is on that dongle, you have to buy Nexus again. They don't just give you a new license if you lose/break the old dongle whether you buy a new dongle or not.
