Manning Publications is preparing a book titled: Programming for Musicians and Digital Artists - Creating music with ChucK

Summary
This book provides a complete introduction to ChucK programming for digital musicians and artists. Rich with practical examples and pointers to additional web resources, it can be understood by novices wishing to learn to program interactive arts systems. The chapters, text, and examples build on each other to teach the fundamentals of programming in general (logic, loops, functions, objects, classes) and also deal with advanced topics (multi-threading, events and signals, networking, digital signal processing, Fourier analysis, etc.), all with useful and highly gratifying artistic applications and results. Throughout the book, the reader/student creates meaningful and rewarding expressive digital "instruments" that make sound and music in direct response to gestures, program logic, and other systems (and other human programmers/players) connected via MIDI or the network. The ChucK language provides precise high-level control over time, audio computation, and user interface elements (track pad, joysticks, etc.). ChucK is used (unknowingly in most cases, via SMule Apps) by millions of users throughout the world, and is the backbone of dozens of academic programs and laptop orchestras. This book will be the first to systematically document and teach this powerful language.

We are looking for reviewers to participate in the internal review of the manuscript, still unfinished. We don't pay for this, but reviewers will be acknowledged in the book and sent a complimentary copy. The review lasts two weeks and mostly consists of filling out a questionnaire.
