It was all good at first... for about 10 seconds.... until Adam and Eve started arguing about which particular kind of apple was the best. :hihi:

it's all gone downhill since then. :)

As far as the last few page of this thread:

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.

Douglas Adams

And as far as everything else:

There is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.

There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

Cheers,

My theory is this... The Universe is sentient and does not like to be known, so as soon as people figure something out, the Universe adds a new level of complexity to keep us confounded :-)

Another thing, does it have any sort of elastic pitch?
Oh yes. Essential stuff to be able to record music. Wonder how people managed before these essential multi recording features. Not to forget the very important elastic pitch.

that actually does explain it :)

And it's pretty clear that I mentioned audio recording.

So in other words its not a toy, its just not for you. Which is fine.

I never saw DAWs like Bitwig and Live as the kind of DAWs that I would go to for multi track recording. I don't see a problem with that especially because most of us (including your self) use multiple daws. I use Live and will use Bitwig for making beats. I use Cubase 5 or Protools to track and comp vocals. This nothing new, for example Reason is mainly thought of as a production tool. Reason does audio now but didn't for years and was mostly for production but was never considered a "toy".
The same can be said for FL studio.

TheoM, There is nothing wrong with expressing your opinion. Thats what we are all here to do. With all due respect, your tone is very aggressive and somewhat disrespectful. People like myself, Tom and others have all expressed concerns and disappointments with certain parts of Bitwig but you are the only one receiving backlash and its because of your tone.

I'm not foolish enough to tell an adult to change his tone or change any thing. I'm just letting you know (in case your not aware) that its your tone, and not your opinion that has brought you the recent backlash.

Hello Japan

We are very pleased to offer a localized Japanese version of our website for the Japanese-speaking world. And we're equally proud to be working with Dirigent as our distribution partner in Japan: www.dirigent.jp.

More news about the release date and pricing will follow soon.
Did I miss the announcement? Can't find it.

I think it takes a while to make a program that will host other programs, perform in real-time and work on several platforms. A lot of the other hosts haven't even tried and some of them have been around for decades (in one form or another).

My take? I think a couple of folk were sitting around at another job wondering if they could build a better mousetrap. And instead of sitting around cursing the dark they lit a match. I applaud their effort. I hope they learned from the mistakes made while working on the other program and I hope it helps them make a better program this time around. Their success is beneficial to me as a consumer and user of these products if they can raise the bar when it comes to features, stability and support. Am I rooting for their success? Damn right I am.

I think once the product is out a lot of users will give them the same type of input and support that helped Reason, Live, Cubase, Pro-Tools and every other app that has survived this bad economy become a better app. It takes time.

I am primarily a Live user. But I don't perform live. There are features that appear in the BWS roadmap that have my interest for sure. However, I know I will have to wait a bit. And during that time I will probably update to Live 9 or 10 if they put something in there that I feel justifies the upgrade price. And I will probably renew my license for Reaper too. Liking one of them doesn't make think of the rest of them as "toys". That's a very condescending thing to say, IMO, and I don't feel qualified to throw that kind of stone since I haven't the skill nor the desire to compete with any of those devs.

I think it takes a lot a guts to get into this game and start a new brand in a somewhat down market. I wish them the best and I can't wait to try it out, good bad or otherwise!

Well that escalated quickly

Let us smoothly get back on topic, is there any information whether one could change the color theme or not?
