I tried Reaper more intensively,
here is a 6 part loop as Reaper song using 6 Entrancers->
{link down-will update tonight or tomorrow-7/11/13}
It didn't crash at any stage, uses 20% of my fleet lappy.
Reaper was redrawing it's GUI a touch,
like flickering under ASIO,
my soundcard is Virus TI. When I tried DX,
it did not GUI spasm at all.
Dunno if that's my plug or Reaper/VirusTI.
Anyway-I'll call that a success.
Maybe I'll pick up Reaper some time.
The Entrancer to use is the latest upped here-it's called 'Entrancer_Ver_1',
and you must rename it 'Entrancer' and delete the ver that came with the pack,
the random fix makes this neccessary.
Edit-when I opened the project just now I was clicking around quickly and it Reaper hung, but you know, it's working IMO. I loaded and edited the project again fine.
I dunno what to do about SE, maybe I'll try and fix it again now.

I'm gonna spruik the synth by letting u know what Rob Lee thought of it->
"Really nice synth though"
"- sounds very cool indeed"
"You have a little Gem here Smile"
Also to add, he found the feel of the sound/UI reminded him of first running Synthmaster. ie. like it had something a little special.
Rob has sorta moved away from making softsynth presets,
I should make the bank myself.
Will render the little Reaper project to audio to demonstrate some stability and some standard sounds. The Reaper file has some fm/rm glitch noise channel,303,supersaw,kick,snare and a fat filt. tri bass
Synthmaster is a more versatile, capable synth, the company is more established.
I hope my synth does approach it however in ease of use and ability to make singular sounds.
Thanks Rob for giving it a razz and commenting, ur a gentleman and a scholar 8D
Reaper has me in it's clutches- I'll get the license next Tuesday

definately don't worry about SE, it only got there because that's where i put vsts when i want to get a general idea (dunno why, ext loads faster).
congrats on the Name endorsement!

hmm, I reckon I'll still try for a fix,
as, like I say I have it loading-
and making sure the preset arrays are minimal is very evident in SE load times.
Leave it with me and I'll get a version that loads as quickly as possible across to you in due course, it may be smoother in other hosts too because of any fixes.
I'm as surprised as I am pleased Rob thought it was decent. Our market is saturated, and the ground I am walking is tread by people who know a lot more about coding and audio than me, as well as being in companies, so yeah-his word is peaches.
An idea I have for the upcoming things- an effect that does fm to an audio signal. Will make a mess of links soon(don't let that put you off my plugs-by the time they are compiled they neat as pins)-haha that'll do for a pun
Hope you can still get stoked on the audio tech X

Now I'm a bit confused because your synths are definitely made with Synthmaker (now: Flowstone) and not with Synthedit, so I don't know why there's talk of Synthedit...
Anyway, Entrancer sounds pretty good despite the high CPU consumption (I got up to 40 % with Unisono & other effects). The problem with Synthmaker synths is that their GUI alone needs MUCH CPU, much more than Synthedit synths.
Unfortunately it always crashes my whole OS (with blue screen) when I'm removing it from the FX chain in REAPER because of some memory conflict with my audio driver (RealTek). I had the same problem with a few older Synthmaker-made synths, rarely with newer ones. Surprisingly, I didn't have any problem with most Synthedit synths.
So the problem seems to be in old Synthmaker code...

I'm sorry man,
it is unusable for sure for you.
I get 3% CPU on the default patch,
which would not hit 10% with chords and unison.
It uses 17% for 6 instances in Reaper,
the bar project I have upped,
which has a supersaw.
The GUI will use a bit when redrawing,
but not when static.
What system and OS have you?
I have i7 quad 2.4 with 8 logical processors for my figures.
I can't believe it blue screens, I haven't had one of those
for many years.
Damn, man- that's a truly terrible integration I have with your system.
Will think about what to do.
Thanks so much for trying it and for the feedback,I'll think about what to do about it- the best thing to do would be to make a build on your system, while watching the CPU meter, it can't be done though.
I can delete the plugin from Reaper projects.
The talk of SE pertains to using SE as a host. You can wrap plugs with SE too.
It would contain many components which were wired in old SM.

I have a dual core (not a quad), maybe that's the cause for the high CPU consumption.
But I don't have any serious CPU problems with most synths, only some Synthmaker-made synths cause EXTREME CPU-consumption. Most (optimized) Synthmaker synths I can use without any problems, for example all the old DSK plugins and Angular Momentum plugins...
It seems to be a certain SM module which causes the RAM problems with my RealTek driver when the synth is removed from the REAPER FX Chain, followed by a Blue Screen...
But no worry, I have more than enough other synths...

sounds like a bug that doesn't rear it's head on my machines. hmm
are you willing to be payed an hourly rate to test?
There isn't anything I wish to test atm,
but for sure it sounds like a perfect case in which to iron out the instabilities. Angular Momentum is about on par with me as far as DSP ability,
but for sure you may think differently since his are working at your end.
DSK understands filter math better than me.
I understand if you can't deal with bluescreens at all, I'm not sure if I would test if that was happening to my system.

Here is the new Entrancer link->
http://www.sendspace.com/pro/dl/j67w53
Changelog->
many strings now float arrays
fixed recall of sequencer patterns
porta now sample accurate
pan now post fx
Host updates->
SynthEdit:Now loading as quickly as any other host without memory errors.
Xoxos- would like to hear if it works at ur end
Reaper: Will update the 6 track example. There are some pops, damn-I dunno what causes them, but they are only when editing. After edits it will run like 'tis meant to.
Orion: some bugs when engaging and disengaging Ruby. The beta forum suggests this might not apply to only FS creations.
All: loading a little faster and the recall of sequencer patterns is fixed.
Tricky Loops- if u aren't completely frustrated by my dev'ing efforts,
I will send u a pm with commercial testing offer
I'm not aware of any issues with anything else in the pack
Cheers- and hope the sound is amping you too
edit- actually, the presets in drumroll are broken in the spline draws.
I will fix this, but yeah- IMO if you like the drums u have made, it's best to render to audio for now. It's on my to-do list, I mean to fix it very soon

OK-
I have done good today with Entrancer.
Changelog-
Sequencer patterns always recall
No more gating cludge on sequencer-so it triggers the envelopes properly, not a filtered gate
fixed automation parameters-only showing what I want
arp will not drift at all from main speed counter-If you want to use 2, use the mode 'play' on the sequencer, and use ur host to trigger it by drawing in c4 for desired length.
Tested in Orion and Reaper- pristine sound
RAM is such a killer though... 200mb per instance.
I dunno, the VST is only 6, search me.
But if you want to load a few and jam, it's giving me a buzz anyway.

https://soundcloud.com/nix808/reap-what-you-saw-demo
Here is a demo I made using five instances in Reaper.
The pitch variations are all done with the internal seq and arp.
Here is the Reaper project,
use the latest .dll in the previous post->
http://www.sendspace.com/pro/dl/yergtn
It's using 15% of my lappy for the five plugs.
There is-
FM 303
trappy dubsteppy tri bass
FM snare
Kick
supersaw arp
I am having driver issues with my Virus,
still jiggling the settings,
but when my computer decides it likes me, there are no discontinuities at all.
IMO-this is a driver issue between the compatibility of Reaper and Virus TI ASIO. It does run clean with the settings I just made, no pops in the short track.
I'm into Reaper now, will pick it up on Tuesday when I have some funds.

Sorry,
The audio is only flawless under ASIO if using only a couple of instances.
It's really easy to make projects with this get buffer underruns.
Will see what I can do. It pops due to underruns, not something I have done wrong per se IMO. It's a bit of a beast, ie. complex VST, this is causing problems.
The sample and hold on mod sources also not recalling, just leave this feature off, I have fixed it- but will do more stuff as well in the next update.
bear with me, pleases 8D
I tested 2 systems and 2 soundcards,my newer laptop is better. If your running a VirusTI, performance is improved by running the TI in ur host and punching the live button. If using Reaper setting events to 'time critical' helps.
I have 2 projects here open on my lappy, Reaper with 5 'trancers, and Orion with 4. Both run without any discontinuities- but I surmise if I add another instance the ASIO will flake out and pop.
ECHO Layla on my desky is struggling with the O project.

omg- I'm such a dolt
When developing I always watch the CPU in task manager.
I just learnt today that the DSP does not utilize the system wholly-
therefore to watch host CPU meter.
Anyway{facepalm} I am cluey to this now,
and am optimizing the synth-
bear with me and I will do what I can to maximize instances.
ATM- I have five with no underruns, prolly 6 in Reaper with it's time critical switch.
Will be back with a cool update. It does seem stable, one little graphics bug, easy to squash. I ran for 4 hours today in Orion without a crash- and the project is still open now and it's really complex sounding, deep rhythmic. Each line is simple, but it's as said with all of them going. I have offered to share my project with anyone who wants to optimize it, ASM or other, if you want to have a crack at it let me know.
Cheers- next update should be worth the d/l

Cool mate-
Yeah, should be a lot better then.
Maybe the bluescreen had to do with an array that was left in there.
When I nixed that it stopped screwing up in SE.
Anyway, yeah I recommend evry1 wait until I update,
unless you want to render only a couple of instances.
btw- I have made one advancement, not just trying for as many instances as possible. I had a dialogue with Adam Trance, who built the JP6k. I attempted to make polyphonic porta for him, and succeeded with sample accuracy. He suggested that the porta is not true polyphonic, in that it doesn't sustain the original note. I am new to this concept, and took his word for it, but IMO- it does sustain the original and is true poly porta. Unless porta is engaged, it will not affect the working DSP CPU. It's hard you know, to hear whether the first note sustains. neway, check this trendy sound in the new release when I make it. Adam hinted that possibly I started him thinking and some porta modes may become available from him. I was stoked to get this, the cludge I had proposed has sketchier accuracy time-wise.
