I'm completely with you, it annoys me too. And know that I respect the work I've seen you post on this and other sites, but I personally resist posting in threads like this if I haven't taken the time to read through them because it sort of assumes that no one else might know what they're talking about and risks raising the noise floor by adding redundant information. Of course different ways of saying the same thing are not inherently bad and can reveal aspects of an issue or a viewpoint that one might not have otherwise realized. But people who have studied music like us already have to fight the "elitist" labels on the internet even when we're only trying to help and entering a thread unread probably risks making that worse.JumpingJackFlash wrote:Well, as I said, I hadn't read the entire thread.IncarnateX wrote:it seems kind of , well, a bit vulgar to drive by and pretend that you have solved this whole deal, when your statements (not to be confused with arguments) basically have been argued for and elaborated very thouroughly by others.
These kind of things annoy me too much, invariably full of people whose knowledge is limited to what they can watch on Youtube or read on Wikipedia, all too eager to pass their misunderstandings onto others, but seldom willing to listen.
why do our scales have seven notes?? and not 8, 9, 10 or 11?

I believe I have an answer to the OP's question. I started a new thread since this one is so long:
