The VST3 thing was relevant info.

That "wrong logo" on their web page certainly directly implied that it had VST3. Thanks for clearing that up.

I am a little baffled (with all of the web chat about it) why it took them so long to catch that web design error. It was making the "VST3 lists" from day one.

Yeah, that was why Dom laughed so hard. The VST3 logo is very stylized and if you don't look closely, you can easily overlook the "3" in a small jpg. So if you are pretty sure that you yourself never said you would support VST3 but always wonder why people think you do, you come up with all kinds of explanations (like note expression support etc.) - but how often do you look closely at your own homepage? ;-)

I can't remember who finally said that it is because of the logo on the homepage - but I guess both sides always thought the other side knew all along...

And that is what I wanted to tell with this story:
On KVR people often have a very hard stance toward devs. And the fact is, that devs are guys like everybody else who are sometimes sick, or have family trouble or are on holidays or have a headache or just a bad day or miss something or forget something or have certain preferences or ideas or things they don't like...

Or search their glasses for 5 minutes to then realize they are wearing them ;-)

Humans.

Cheers,

Tom

Nah. Even us hacker / developer / hobbyists know that devs are perfect and never miss anything and every app they code is just sheer perfection and they are supposed to never make mistakes and if they do, we pounce on it like Wild African Dogs on a cripple deer because we (the users / backseat drivers) are perfection incarnate.... uh... yeah... that's it. :hihi:

Exactly, I think you got it :D :P

Yeah, it sucks. It's really a "joke" that some guys spent years developing a really complex software application but didn't get that one thing quite right yet.

If only I had done it - cue the Superman theme music here - that would not have happened. :hihi: I am the equivalent of Mr. Data on Star Trek, I am perfect.

Of course, I can't really test or prove that theory of my ultimate perfectionism because ... well... I can't actually do it. But take my word for it. :)

Well, that's quite obviously the problem with all these apps... that we aren't coding them. Surely, they'd all be much better if we were. :hihi:

There's only one perfect daw... it starts with an R...

All this talk about Amiga leaves my heart all a flutter. My first introduction to electronic music making:

Never crashed and no latency problems! Of course, if you didn't sample your own sounds you had no sounds. I have fond memories of literally wrapping my 8-bit parallel port sampler in tinfoil to reduce noise interference. :)

I remember those times.. Boxes of discs with samples, ST-01 till ST-?? and ripped samples from games. Parallel port sample converter. Pizza, late nights, copy parties..

Actually, a new feature packed a500 accelerator is imminent, from a successful
and prolific developer, and at a great price.
You'll need to craft a case for it, sidecar style, but it's impressive.

http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread. ... 4d&t=66322

and a new soundcard, the Repulse! 'sample resolutions upto 20 Bit for playback and 18 Bit for record. With the enhanced full duplex mode playing and recording can be done at the same time. Additionally, the Repulse sound card has a S/P-DIF In/Output which supports upto 24 Bit and 96 kHz'

http://www.vesalia.de/e_repulse.htm

Also a mega board for a3000/4000 is teased in the German rumour mill,
although it's main website is not updated. PPC, 040, 2 gig DDR3,etc,

http://www.ultimateppc.nl/specifications.php

and the nice software.HD-Rec is now open source,
don't know if that equates to freeware.

But did it have elastic audio?
