Hi,

I'm trying to post at least one track for every 500 posts at KVR - so I'm jumping the gun a bit.

I'm grateful to anyone taking the time to listen, and more so to anyone who provides some feedback be it hints, tips, insults or [gasp] praise.

To save some of you the bother I would describe it as a dark breakbeat thingy.

It's not completely finished but it's as close as I've got to a finished track for ages (I mean 4 tracks in 18 months ffs).

As always - a huge thankyou to Glassback for hosting!

anyway, cheers!

wow cyph :o that was really good. you're right, it was dark, which i loved. very "clean" sound too. all the parts were very distinct and well panned and placed. great beat. loved the bassline and really liked how you would have a little bass note drag every now and then at the end of a line. i usually hate vocal samples, but these were done well. not overdone, plus they sounded really dark and evil....muuuuhahahahaha  :D

i say this on everyone's track, but i really mean it this time - some heavy guitars would work well in this song every once in a while. no thrashing wall of shit, but "clean" muted distortion over some of the parts. very good job!!!

almost forgot - the breaks before about 3 and 4 minutes were well done and kept the flow of the song going well.

Although this track doesn't go extremes or into bomb-climaxes I think you have a very good track going here. For some reason I cared more for the second half starting after 3.30 min. The music at that point has such a grand clarity in all the sounds. It seems more that all before that is build up to that moment. A huge splash at 0.57 would have given more climax there, as I feel it to be going down too much as if the track is starting over again. Drums sound pretty good allthough a few off notes would make it livelyer. That acid line from 3 mins on should come in way sooner I think. And play a bit with the deeper bassline through time to get some movement there too, it stays a bit basic.

With the right touches I think you may have a bomb-track on your hands.

Wow  thanks guys really appreciate the comments.

T-willy - if you are interested in adding some guitar touches feel free to pm me - I would be interested in what you come up with. :D

Mystahr - thanks, I realise you listen to more Cafe posts than most so really pleased to read your very constructive feedback, I will have a tinker this weekend and take on board your advice. :D

Camelherder - alright alright I'll bring the acid line in sooner :x  , you're prolly right about the ride too, I'll see what I can do.

Distortion - thanks for the comments, I wouldn't say it was finished just yet but pleasing to get such good feedback at this stage, so thanks!

cheers all.

I liked it, really nice mix & use of instruments.

Sounded a little too clean for me though, you need to foul the nest some. Maybe add some flange to the cymbals & verb on the snare, just a little. When you hit & hold that low note on the bass line, I would fade in some distortion till the note ends, or tweak some res.

Sounds great though!

Cool stuff, not my kind of thing actually but a strong mix which sounds lovely even in my small logitech speakers I have at work. Great! 8)

Thanks guys (or girls?)...

sickle666 - foul the nest! ha like it..I shall give that some thought.

mffs - thanks for the comments.

BTW - did anyone think the conga/djembe part was too far back in the mix?

people like you make me sick :x
you whinge about your lack of talent here there and everywhere then produce stuff like this :x

:P

seriously, like i said maybe you aint so prolific, but when you do give us something its good!probably with a capital g when you finish it too 8)

as for the acid line i dont think it needs to come in sooner but rather use twillys suggestion and get donks to do some kirk hammet style widdlin over the early bit(see spawn soundtrack)
i will however agree with mark that with a little more work here you have a bomb on your hands.

obviously this is just my opinion and as you know not much i can say to help in this sorta stuff but id really like to hear krims opinion and ideas on this one :)

I liked this one quite a bit as well, having listened to it three times already. would like to hear the acid line earlier as well, but as you're making plans for guitar, that should be interesting. didn't know t-willy played guitar either.

cheers Bluedad, do you play guitar? You're very welcome to have a bash if you want, pm me if interested!
