Public beta would generate quite a mess, everyone would be reporting bugs and what not, asking for features, most likely they don't want that and want to stick to their original idea, whatever that idea is, looks like a "modular" sequencer at a first glance to me. Also if I'm not wrong, I think I've heard some scripting possibility, if that's true it would make it similar to some 3D apps like Maya.

For those new to this thread: Around page ~65 the real info starts.
There is a lot of chitchat and some trolling, but if you are really interested in Bitwig Studio it may be worth your while to go through it, warts and all.
Cheers,
Tom

No, I don't know when that new beta will be out, but you can be sure I'll report my findings here.Redukt wrote:Hi Thomas, good to see you back - any news on the improved MIDI functionalities Dom mentioned a few pages before the whole "Bitwig is a toy" discussion started?
I started with a nice new 3D-Job today so I may be a bit less active for a while.
Cheers!

Are Send and Bus Effect Automations editable(copy&paste, move, duplicate and delete) together with the clips(group) or must I edit them seperate when arranging the clips?

I think you mentioned S1 does offer sidechain for vst 2 ? that surprises me, since i thought sidechain is not be possible with vst 2 standard, isn't it?

Yes it can do it, so can alot of other hosts, I think its just cubase that has an issue with it. Its not in the vst2 standard but you can still code them to do itSuloo wrote:I think you mentioned S1 does offer sidechain for vst 2 ? that surprises me, since i thought sidechain is not be possible with vst 2 standard, isn't it?

Sure it's possible with Vst 2, it just depends how flexible the host is with the inputs and outputs.

I wonder how many licenses will we get when purchasing BWStudio , to be able to install it on multiple computers if that is needed ?

You already declared that Bitwig was of no use to you due to other lacking features... Given that as so, then you are just doing further grandstanding in a thread about software you already said you had no further interest in.TheoM wrote:
If bitwig doesn't have sidechain, which for some reason seems to be eluding people from answering, then no amount of other features could make it of any use to me. So I really wish someone would answer it.
