iPad Pro?

Here we go again!
Seriously if Apple are going to make an iPad Pro I'd like them to have Mac OSX on it and at least a Core i5 with the minimum of 4GB. From what I have read this is nothing more than an iPad Air with a bigger display. Yawn!!!! If this is true and it is only a bigger iPad Air then shame on you Apple.

I'd be VERY intrigued by a 12" iPad, but as for the thought of controlling Mac OSX with a touch screen, erm... not so much. I can currently do just that using AirDisplay, and though OSX running right on my iPad would surely offer faster response to my finger gestures, OSX really isn't appropriate for touch control, which is why iOS exists.
Quite frankly, though I find some aspects of it frustrating, I generally really enjoy using iOS, and knowing Apple they have plans (and working prototypes/alphas/betas) for taking it into a whole new realm of usability.
Off the top of my head, I can imagine a 12" iPad being perfect for showcasing an update to iOS which allows the control of more than one app at the same time. For example, it's not hard to imagine user's appreciating the option to have a flexible 1x1, 1x3, 2x2, 4x4, etc... split screen; each cell/section being swappable with another, and each responding independently to swipe, zoom and the usual touch gestures. I know I'd love it for controlling my iOS synths at the same time as I'm using my iOS MIDI controller(s), but of course, a big enough screen would be necessary.
As for other uses, well, the larger screen would be enormously useful for visual designers and anyone else doing detailed editing. In fact, more times than not, I'm finding myself dragging photos out of Mac OSX into iOS (on my iPad) to use visual processing and design iOS apps simply because they're way, way, way better than anything I've found at a similar price point for my Mac. Actually, in my opinion, there are many iOS apps that show how staggeringly powerful iOS7 is when running on the current higher end iOS device models. iOS ain't a joke, or at least I doubt it will be for long.

If they releases an iPad Pro with zero user expandability (even an SD card slot) I will larf and larf.

I enjoy iOS too for the great music production and synth apps that are available. However, I was really looking forward to Apple doing something with OSX and making it have multi touch capabilities much like Windows 8. The thought of using Propellerheads Reason through multi touch or even just single touch is very appealing to me. Even though I really love iOS and its great I was wanting to see something different from the iPad Pro.
I was seriously considering a Windows 8 tablet to use Reason 7 with as I looked at a youtube video earlier this week and the guy on the video tested Reason on a touch screen Windows 8 tablet and it worked perfect but only through single touch. Even in single touch I still find that appealing.

How can they even consider calling anything "Pro" without some way to attach some form of removable storage. And the way Apple uses storage RAM to create price levels has got to be the silliest thing ever. 16 gigs of RAM for $100? Really?

Silliest thing ever? Apple has gone from near bankruptcy to the most profitable and powerful company in the world with this pricing strategy, I doubt they feel foolish and I suspect people stand in line for days to but this thing.Breeze wrote:+ 1tehlord wrote:If they releases an iPad Pro with zero user expandability (even an SD card slot) I will larf and larf.

I'd bet my Curve2 license (I love Curve2) that Propellerhead have plans to bring Reason to the iPad. It's clear that they''ve already started programming parts of Reason for iOS, as they've released Thor as an app, which, though it has an interface more appropriate for an iPad, and it obviously lacks 'back panel' routing, is essentially the same thing as the version in Reason. My guess is that they're waiting for Apple to release an iPad with a fast enough processor, because Propellerhead have made it pretty damn clear that they can do it, and want to.Artmuzz wrote:I enjoy iOS too for the great music production and synth apps that are available. Silly from the perspective of how they take advantage of people's ignorance. Absolute genius from the perspective of marketing. Half empty, half full...SLiC wrote:Silliest thing ever? It's fine doing that with Ipads and iPhones because the fools that buy them will only ever share selfies on Facebook or play Candy Crush.
When you label something 'Pro' and (likely) charge well over $1000 for the privilege you better make sure you don't piss off the target market.

Actually, I'd bet Propellerhead already have Reason fully running in the Mac iOS emulator. Perhaps channelling some of the Rack Extension revenue into paying for the iOS GUI redesign (designers/programmers).dformd wrote:I'd bet my Curve2 license (I love Curve2) that Propellerhead have plans to bring Reason to the iPad. seriously though, I agree, and hope that they have a strategy that provides a solution for any so-called pro market with regards to iOS devices. I can certainly imagine at least one Thunderbolt port, and can't imagine them coming up with a satisfactory alternative to USB for the current market, so I'm not sure how they can avoid having at least one of those ports for the first generation (if of course this so-called iPad Pro bomb is indeed going to be dropped - I think likely, at some point anyway).dformd wrote:iCloud Pro !tehlord wrote:I disagreeSLiC wrote:
