Theo might be right on many points. Yes they may still release before the end of the year, but the number of omissions for features is surprising to say the least for a version 1.

The operative word there is might... Theo might be right about some things (not that other people haven't also suggested the same things so nothing new there). Then again, he might be wrong. He talks as if his speculations are certain, and then uses those speculations as the excuse to target the developers with rude, sarcastic comments. His behavior is ugly and the Bitwig people do not deserve it even if his predictions are correct. But hey, maybe his objective is to chase the developers away from the forum.

1.is there a possibility to use a arpeggiator and vocoder and sidechain compressor (midi and audio sidechain routing to insert and send effects)

2.is there a standard value for example pitch automations where it snaps to if near enough that also a automation, where just little changes causes effects like pitch can find the zero effect value fast without trying in detail?

3.can I assign layered instruments to different notes? as example instrument 1 to C, Dis and G and Instrument 2 to Cis, D, F and Gis?

4.is there a randomize function also for the notes?

5.Can I put more than one vsti layer morph and effect layers on one channel?

thanks for answers!

I'm A-OK with the significant shortcomings. Because I'm presuming the price will reflect that :)

Swings & Roundabouts.

I have an idea.

It's pretty wild.

Not sure if anyone thought of this yet.

Write and record a new song.

It's really far out there, mind-bendingly crazy, and off-the-wall, but it might work.

Maybe.

It was a joke ... because this discussion is getting heated again, for no good reason other than a bunch of people speculating about 2nd hand knowledge of a beta that isn't ready for release yet. That includes me, 'cause I don't know what the plan is at Bitwig HQ ... none of us do.

Um. ya. there's reason to doubt. at least two reasons.

[1] the source. "some guy on the internet"
[2] live doesn't have those significant short-comings, and the advantages BitwigStudio v 1.0 has over Live 9.1 don't make up for them IMO. Therefore the price comparison is not like-for-like. IMO of course.

one {or two?} online retailers created some place-marker pages for Bitwig Studio once upon a time, and used the price of Ableton Live as a guide price. and this is where "some guys on the internet" became wholly convinced of it's price.

Also, some guys on the internet who speculate high prices for software still in development are douchebags IMO. When you speculate a price while software is in development you are not simply guessing what it might be, you are telling the developer what you are willing to pay...

at the end of the day Theo, in your case, you've already written the software off as something you're not interested in. But even still, the shortcomings as they are - currently - can only really be taken in to account when we know that [a] they still exist in the 1.0 commercial release, and the pricetag. All the doomsday rhetoric until such time is premature to say the least. IMO.
