Rob Papen Predator might be a good choice. A real workhorse synth covering the full range from unapologetically digital and dirty to sweet and fat.

... or, add my vote for Corona:

To echo what another poster said, Corona is definitely a hidden gem that seems to be underappreciated. I personally love it.

Vember Audio Surge perhaps? One of the few that dare say "Binary is beautiful" on the product page. 8) 6 polyphonic LFOs and 6 global LFOs that each can be set to function as delay-attack-hold-decay-sustain-release envelopes instead. There's a modulation option for the waveforms as well. The 6 global LFOs can modulate FX parameters as well so you can have envelope controlled frequency shifted delays for instance.

Some hold it against it that it hasn't been updated in years, but that's simply because it works and is as stable as can be. The dev has always updated as soon as he could whenever anyone has found a bug, and it's had a 64-bit version for years.

There is no such thing as "the last synth" here at KVR..

:hihi:

My recommendation for a good digital synth though that only has one page would definitely be U-he Zebra. You can get it to emulate the timbres of other instruments very easily and it can cover a fairly wide range of "digital" synthesis sounds. As of version 2 it really does not require a super computer to run and so you can run a large amount of Zebras before ever needing to freeze.

He have Zebra already.

For one page: do you know about the upcoming Spectral by Linplug?
Nice spectral editor for waveforms and for filters.
Even the matrix is on the main page for easy overview for controllers.

Spire also have different character and easy workflow to use next Zebra.

yes, this, the modulation system is awesome, click on an lfo and every slider turns blue, then pull the sliders and EVERYTHING you move will be controlled by that lfo etc...it can sound very smooth or very digital and harsh. very underrated...

Love these, but OP is looking for a non-emulation.

My vote goes to Spire.

This ain't gonna work. Every synth I bought in the last year and a half has been the "last" synth. :hihi:

Either your rich and buy them all or your financially challenged and looking to make smart buys. Buying more bang for the buck deals is important to you in that case and less expensive more so than higher priced is the issue and we all have to be smart and look to buy at key points in the year when sales are generally available and planning your purchases around sales is the smarter way to go.

Had Rapture been $20 again buying it would have been a no brainer. Synthmaster, korg M1 or monopoly or wavestation would all be nice and are available for very little money. The list of synths I posted can usually be purchased on sale at audio deluxe. I am waiting on a huge business deal to close then I will just buy them all till then I have to work at saving money like the majority of us musicians. bargains are usually what you need to focus on and take what comes your way. OPX player is only $40 as are the Xils lab players if you want to just get sounds, also Alchemy player is free and there are sound packs for $40 or so available on that companies website. Korg M1 offers 3000 sounds that are fairly useful for only $50 so I always mention that one. If you are going to spend based on a budget these are the most useful selections to look at.

If you buy them all at once, they may all become nothing but sound players. Better to start with what's free and looks the most interesting to you if you can't afford anything ATM. Gives you time to learn what you want next or even if you need everything, (which chances are, you don't). Take the time to learn what you like and what you don't about each one and the learning process can eliminate the need to have everything (maybe not the need to try everything though). Get what you can, when you can and run it as much as you can. Some will end up boring you quickly and others won't let you go.

You'll starting looking for others soon enough. But find a start point and don't wait for the day you can buy them all. JMO
