well i mean maybe its possible that there is a flaw with the demo.
and obviously it would be in my best interest to figure that out, and get it corrected. and i would gladly thank anyone for bringing it to my attention.

i still view the casual suggestion that my price is to high for what's 'only a program', even compared to other nebula libraries out there, is just way beyond going into the realm of dishonesty. especially considering that this is my most expensive release and its still cheaper than maybe MOST neb comps out there, if they were all tallied up and compared. maybe not, but it'd be very close at least. anyone can look at the various websites and check prices. right off you can see that my prices are consistently lower by far. that alone doesn't really give you an idea of how much work went into each library though, and that can't really be shown ever, only talked about. sometimes it is, in vague terms. i try to be specific. but ultimately what's actually in a package is where the value comes, and i think that my prices are and always have been pretty low for the amount of stuff i put in those sets.

How about some progressive audio examples (settings going from unprocessed to average to extreme) showing where, if anywhere, the line is past which Cupwise compressors *do* start to break down in Nebula-dependent ways? Maybe also some examples of where the Cupwise SHQ programs do make a clear difference over the regular programs on a bass drop or strings of transients, etc.

Maybe using strings of identical, quick successions of say 808 kicks or 808 snares. The 660 drums "squashed" demo on Cupwise site... I can't tell if some of the variations in compressed snare transients there are just the drummer's imperfect playing coming up as more obvious in compression or if they are indicative of small Nebula compressor artifacts on transients.

this is why i provide the demos. theres even an shq version right in the demo. and again, an 808 type kick is already a known limitation that isn't going to be handled well.

the demos have limitations but uh, they show how the compression works and anything to do with any possible artifacts or negative effects with specific types of sounds are going to be shown by them. they won't give you all of the harmonics, and the full amount of control. you can't have slower releases or attacks with the demos, and there are some other programs that do different stuff that you don't see represented by the demo, but the idea is that if you like the demo then you would like the full set. if you can find uses for the demo, then you will almost surely find more with the full set, and with better control and quality.

Tim, Perhaps you're picking up some slack and discontent indirectly because of some other developers.

When I got into Nebula, I kept buying library, after library thinking that maybe it was good but somehow , due to my technical shortcomings I just didn't know how to use them to their full sonic potential.

Then I started feeling that, to some extent, this whole Nebula thing was a nice loophole for a subtle customer abuse. Because, there is always this little demon inside of you that keeps you wondering what if the full program is so much better than the demo . And there it goes...until I got so pissed off that I deleted most of my collection simply because it was reminding me that I was taken for a ride.

I'm working a lot with analog gear and know from personal experience that to develop good hearing/listening skills takes a very long time, even when the equipment is DEAD EASY such as 1176, or LA2A etc. For example, I had FATSO for over 6 years and tried it in every possible configuration until I realized that this is simply not my type of gear. It had a very recognizable grain that I could pick up whenever it was in the chain. Usually, I had a bad habit of squeezing it between two cleaner compressors because I also wanted to justify my investment ...Anyhow, it is gone now and I have no regrets.

All of that to say is that I take my time to make any kind of judgment and was very close to give up on Nebula all together until I got your cassettes library and then there was one program where you combined a cassette saturation with Aphex compressor ( you called it Bionic Pickle or something like that). I placed it on a backvocal bus and it kind of cleared and dirtied it all at the same time. I was really happy. BTW It was a demo sample and I bought the whole library right away and the following Aphex libraries.

I should mention that I used to collect Aphex equipment and I believe it is the most underrated audio firm out there...Your programs did not sound exactly like Aphex but they were instantly useful in my music. I guess, with 660 (my favorite vocal tool) I also wanted something that would grab me the same way your Aphex/cassettes programs did. I don't mean a sonic copy of 660 but something as exciting as "Bionic Pickle" program.

It's not a "known limitation" for those who don't have a bachelors in Nebula. As for me, no time. I love Nebula, but it is goddamn nebulous, the irony of which I cherish even more after a few beers.

well again, thats why the demos are there, and its why i mentioned it in the manual which i suggest to look at at my site. i assume that someone would look at all available info, and check out the demo, before buying something with a bit of a higher price like this has. and if not then i assume that they are aware of limitations.
