I'll be sure to write what I think after a year of use. The only real con I see right now is the large volume knob is somewhat flimsy feeling compared with how solid all the rest of the unit feels. The one at guitar center was the same, but it feels rather loose. You can rock it back and forth with the tiniest finger pressure. Doesn't feel like it will fall off, but feels sloppy.

All the rest of the controls feel good. If that is the only con for me, then I scored. I don't expect product perfection ever really, but generally just make sure way more pros to cons and I got it here. In appearance, the knob looks like it would feel like a solid metal knob with tight tolerances, so was a little disappointed on the feel of it in use. The flip out piece that acts as a brace for standing, on the other hand, surprised me. Thicker than I expected and doesn't feel flimsy like I expected.

It looks nice. Good solution.

Everyone that I know that's heard this thing cranked up has been pretty impressed. I'm mixing at lunchtime in my car with iLoud in my passenger seat, mixing in the morning at my kitchen counter, mixing at my neighbors barbaque. When I'm cleaning my house, the iPad and iLoud are still at the same spot in the kitchen, but fills my house with sound. Well, admit the house is kinda small, but still, it fills it good.

has anyone did a comparison between the iLoud and Bose SoundLink Mini? thoughts!!! i do not need all that irig stuff just the speaker system... the Bose SoundLink Mini is $100 cheaper than the iLoud and any experience with these two items would be great...

thanks in advance!!!

Sound tested the Bose. It was ok. Stupid displays at Best buy are limited in music you can pick to try it out though. Guitar center had Traktor DJ on iPad plugged in and highly encouraged playing with it and turning it up loud. I honestly don't think you will come close to power and wide frequency range unless you go with a Peachtree Audio Deep Blue which is $100 more than iLoud.

Honestly, I paid the extra for iLoud and its a purchase I don't even think about anymore being a good deal. No regrets. Really delivers like it says.

thanks again...

Got a chance to checkout the guitar input feature. It worked perfectly with my iPad amps. Felt good playing it. Very responsive and no noticeable lag playing anything.

Wired of course. No Bluetooth.

Mini studio - Korg padKontrol, Korg MS20 C controller, Audiobus running iMS20 into track with monitor on in Beatmaker 2, powered USB hub, Apple CCK, all output to iLoud.

Setup Beatmaker 2 with padKontrol enabled in midi and MS20 C disabled. iMS20 setup with MS20 C only

Trigger loops live and twist sounds on the fly on iMS20

Turn up iLoud.

iLoud is designed to compete with the Soundlink II, not the Soundlink Mini, in terms of size/price/performance. IK is apparently coming out with an iLoud Mini as well.

As for iLoud vs. SoundLink 2, there's annteresting video at:

the Soundlink 2 is the second of the three models compared in that video.

Been looking for a decent portable speaker for ages, definitely checking this out.

Been a while, I hope people have had a chance to hear iLoud directly, note we'll have iLoud at many of the stations at our NAMM booth next week.

There's a great deal ending very soon on iLoud too: https://stacksocial.com/sales/the-iloud ... th-speaker
