I agree with billcarroll, these guys have been very responsive to their customers and have been continuing to cater to the requests. I own a boatload of soft synths and didn't need another but after trying this one, I saw a place for it along side the rest of them. I was aware that some were complaining about the CPU hit and various other design concerns and watched Reveal Sound respond to them in a timely fashion. I think these guys are doing a great job and Spire is a tremendous accomplishment thus far.billcarroll wrote:Spire is a fantastic synth and Reveal Sound has done a terrific job. There are absolutely no terms and conditions anywhere on your site regarding license restrictions, and I also added the product to cart and still nothing. Did a quick search of your forum here with the word transfer and had no results. So basically as it stands no one has a clue what your policies are. (Since there are no t&c whatsoever on your site prior purchase, I presume it is a free standard transfer and the buyer gets a full license.)
That said, I haven't decided whether to sell, not at all, I am simply unsure as I do love the sound.. I just want to know if its possible. I don't need to send emails when I don't even know if I want to do it, and I insist that everyone at kvr has a right to know the policy. Sorry but I'm correct in that. Cheers.Another fact confirming not buying Spire was the best decision.
Shame because soundsets are good but a bit overpriced.
Go make some music and stop whining about software you don't even own.

Theo doesn't have the right to insist anything. The developers quickly provided him with direct support to his question. Just because someone tries to dictate how a developer works doesn't mean they should work that way.pinkpanther wrote:Then TheoM said...

Honestly, I'm not taking issue with you Theo. You'll do whatever you do and I know you're not trying to come from a bad place.TheoM wrote:Oh geez, whatever. I can't say anything right to you bill. I maintain that they should be publicly transparent about their terms and conditions since they simply don't have any on their site or forum. That said, I will email them, find out what they are, and post it myself here for the others to know. Cool? Not the email response of course, but what the transfer rules are. I've got nothing against them and I praise their synth all the friggin time, and my strong preference is to keep it but they won't even answer what sort of percentage performance wise improvement they are even aiming for. I find it frustrating not having a clue but at the end of the day, no biggie either. I just want to know what my options are.
I do however disagree with @pinkpanther's bashing of the developers based on their response to you.

Sure, but you don't have a right to demand that the developer publishes any license information here at KVR. See the difference?TheoM wrote:A customer absolutely has EVERY right to know license condition.
Your current action - i.e. you actually write to them and ask - well, that's what all potential customers should do if they're concerned with this issue. But I'd rather see that they're writing code for Spire instead of writing license terms and conditions.

My latest track is made most out of Spire.
Sunray @ Soundcloud
The pad is 1 instance of Spire (and some Satin wonder)
Melody and chord synth lines are Spire (main melody has an additional Synthmaster layer)
Bass are 3 layers and even the kick is Spire.
With all other instruments and effects (around 60 total) my cpu never went over 35%. The pad took the most with around 8-11%
(on a i7-3930K)
