Another thread summary:
*Many people really like IKM.
*Many people are not basing their decisions on something that hasn't happen yet.
*Many people are not concerned with there being a free player since it seems to only serve as a demo for those that eventually want it.
*There a handful of people that will continue to slam whatever they can because "They enjoy it" more than playing it.

is it IK's fault that you were "under the impression" of something they never said? or is it entirely your own? don't get me wrong - i'm not a huge fan of IK either. although i love T-RackS, love Amplitube and like some of the stuff in Sampletank (although i use it more as an inspirational tool, nothing from ST has ever made into final versions of my tracks), i hate their charging for redownloads, transfer fees, limited activations and Custom Shop nickel-and-diming as much as the next guy. but there's gotta be bounds of reason. i keep wondering how on earth do people manage to twist IK reps' posts so much that they don't even remotely resemble what was being said. in this case, if you interpreted away IK's posts so much that you were misled to believe that there will be a free update - well, that's entirely your fault. they never said there will be a free upgrade. they said there will be a free ST3 player at some point, but nowhere did they tell it's going to be released right away. if you care about IK so much, you would probably already know that there's no way in hell that could happen - that's just IK being IK. so, again, whos fault was it?neverenoughfunk wrote:i was under the impression from this thread that ik multimedia had promised a 64-bit player for individuals who brought during the group buys... for me personally... i brought their products at full price... my concerns "were" the upgrade path...Burillo wrote: that never happened. they never advertised the group buys to be a way of getting a free x64 update. i don't know where you got that from.
they did say it's coming, and it's coming. it's not coming end of 2013, so you're right about that. but two wrongs doesn't make a right - just because IK misestimated their schedule (and they never gave any concrete dates to begin with) doesn't mean you can post outright lies.neverenoughfunk wrote:i do pride myself with the truth... for the record... again... for the record there is a difference between a 64-bit free player -vs- ik multimedia stating for more than 5 years that Sampletank 3 is coming... but if you want to split hair... YOU WIN... "for the record"... ok?you pride yourself on "telling facts" - well, guess what, you just lied. just for the record.
again, two wrongs don't make a right. just because IK is guilty of something doesn't mean you get a free pass on trolling their threads.neverenoughfunk wrote:first off... i would like to say... no ones logic is like "yours"... hopefully... just... hopefully... one day!!! i will be at your level... but then again... i would have to live more than likely another billion years... having a active web presence and "Stringing Along" your customer base are two different things (in my backwards logic)... Specstrasonic has a active web presence too but "never" heard Eric "String Along" his customer base... that is the difference for me... even though it is backward logic in your eyes...and what's up with that whole "IK having an active web presence is a bad thing"? i'd say it's quite the opposite - it's a *great* thing. i don't know how backwards your logic has to be to even suggest such a thing.
so, you getting banned is others' fault? not the fact that you keep beating the same subject over and over again just for the fun of it?neverenoughfunk wrote:going forward... i will not respond to your posts... because individuals like you get me BANNED... therefore... i rather walk away...
broken clock tells correct time twice a day. that doesn't mean it's not broken.neverenoughfunk wrote:p.s. my backwards logic does work sometimes... i predicted Sampletank 3 will be announced at NAMM.. remember... my backwards logic sez... Sampletank 3 will be released end of first quarter...
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

You have been banned more times than I can count on numerous forums. Every time you do, you create a new account and go back to your old ways. I've only been on these same forums for the last 10+ish years learning and participating. Its not hard, I've seen you doing this for years.
On Gearslutz? You were art blakey. Before that, you were cool breeze and before that you were never enough funk.
You've been banned a few times from the Propellerhead AND Abelton forums.
Banned from FutureProducers multiple times under the same account names (Pretty original really) and have taken a special interest in harassing particular users like Kev West. (And now IK for calling you out on these trolling/harassing accounts and posts)
I don't generally play into these types of threads that are just blatant and unwarranted attacks for no real reason besides your mere amusement. So after this post don't expect a reply from me.
TLDR: So, you got banned from FutureProducers? Again? Like, again again? Like again after the time after the last that was after the last, last time? I am so surprised.
That pretty much says it all.bluedad wrote:I call it trolling; please refrain.neverenoughfunk wrote: secondly, i find all this sh!t funny!!! i just throwing fuel on the fire...

ask Obi... how many forums he has been BANNED from... and i am talking about being BANNED for "hawking" ik multimedia products...
being BANNED happens all the time... some of the top (i.e. most informative)individuals have been BANNED at one time or another...
but i am glad that i am under your skin... keep searching for other posts...
in a public/forum setting... you just need one other to agree... there more than one that has agreed with what i wrote... i am happy with that...
but keep trying...
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!
p.s. sonic synth has about 5000 patches and coupled that with Sampletank's patches... dont you think you should go thru the rest of the patches before the end of the first quarter... i.e. when Sampletank 3 is released...
in other words... give the internet a brake and work your skills... maybe you will begin to understand the differences between Sampletank and Kontakt...
just a thought!!!

you cant reason with the fanboiz!!!
once you get under the fanboiz skin... threads do have tendency to be locked...
that would not be a good look... because i would like to come back at the end of the first quarter and show off my backward logic again...
over and out!!!

I'll take care of what I need to with regard to this new development, I was confident in the information I was given and hope people understand that. I will also see if I can't get some "more than Twitter" type of information here, since it really does seem to be moving in a civil direction even with a few bumps in the road too.

What is it you think I should be looking for in Sonik Synth? I didn't expect anything from it in the beginning and so come from it pleasantly suprised. The SampleTron and SampleMoog are good for what they are also, but I really don't use them, (although I have gone through the sounds briefly and they all seem to be good enough).
Don't get get wrong about Kontakt. I think it's a great a solid VI, but it does have problems just like the other three romplers. Things I don't care for. And the supplied NI libraries have been nothing I find usable yet. I do expect that to change with third party stuff (which is Kontakt's strongest feature for me). I would love for Kontakt to have a mixer page closer to Aria though and have the instruments listed something closer to Aria or even ST with larger fonts. I also find have such a large icon for each library to open up such a small file list underneath (and coming out as the same font size as ST) to be backwards.
In comparing a DSF library on both Kontakt and Dimension, Kontakt is clearly better sounding to me.
If Kontakt had the same libraries I have on IKST, I might be able to make the same distinction. But Kontakt's libraries come out lacking in this regard and for me to get what I need from third party dev. means a further investment of around a thousand or more dollars.
So for the time being, Sampletank is the best to fill my current needs. And may even continue to be once the upgraded software and samples show up.

I look forward to any information you can divulge sans twitter/facebook (which I don't follow).

i was under the impression from other forums that i have been BANNED from on multiple occasions that the Sampletank 3 information came directly from management... if i had the time i would search for the threads... but i am working on my Harmon Exercises now... but i could "almost" swear to that...
just had to add my little "snarkness" too!!!

LOL@discussing with IKM...
There is just one simple rule: you don't like it? Don't buy it. You just can't discuss with guys who get paid for "fighting" for their company. That's tilting at windmills. They will always answer things like "yes we understand" or "there might be changes upcoming" but the result is always the same when you disagree: they are right and you pick up the soap. Be my guest and prove me wrong.
I still have a T-Racks Deluxe key here for a magazine subscription (Ozone 5 was out of stock, grrrrr). I never registered it and won't. I can't even sell it with a clear conscience. Too bad I was stupid enough to buy Miroslav Philharmonic. Thank god it was dead cheap. Lesson learned.
I have no harsh feelings against the IKM marketing staff. They are just doing their job. I bet the guys are pretty decent off the job.
Oh and to contribute: http://www.native-instruments.com/de/pr ... kontakt-5/
I love my Kontakt (and even more in 64bit).
