My problem is I can't justify upgrading from Producer. I'm not really interested in Melodyne and I have enough third party plug-ins. Not sure what I'm missing, but I think I'm good!

Upgrading to Professional gives you a really nice built in mastering suite which basically eliminates the need for another program to master your tracks on.
That was one of the primary reasons why I upgraded to Professional. They also give you a lot more samples and sound sets.

The OS X version is running well in my old laptop (Hackintosh 10.6.8 though). I haven't noticed any differences with Windows version regarding performance.
Oh, I'm fighting myself now (might be like the Fight Club! ). Here comes what I waited for a long time (fxpansion sale)! Now how could I upgrade from Producer to Pro and have Tremor and Geist for $200? I must sacrifice one of them

Really?! Thank you!TheoM wrote:
I can give you some good news.. Tremor and Geist won't cost you $200 if you go to jrrshop.com but rather 168.30
Oh regarding the OS X version. I really didn't use it a lot, so I didn't test it that much since I had this new HP laptop with Windows 8. So, I really don't know about its problems in OS X.
In fact I have two bugs I encountered in all S1 versions, they are minor but annoying. One of them is when auditioning midi files (say drums grooves), it doesn't change the clock speed. I mean toggling the speed between the host and original file. It always syncs with the host (deactivating the sync button has no effect). The other one is when you click to view the performance, the windows disappear behind other windows when you click it! I need to click it and drag it to an empty place. Well, not major things, I can live with that

Is it me, or are there no version upgrades (ie V1 to V2) just in-verson upgrades (Artist to Pro, etc)?auron wrote:Maybe there is more love around for S1 as they have Black Friday sales and 50% off

An idiot on Set Theory:

Not seeing either of those here. I do have an annoyance where the entire app window goes always on top like a toolbar, but it's intermittent and only happens on Win 8.EnGee wrote:In fact I have two bugs I encountered in all S1 versions, they are minor but annoying. All things considered, my ride with S1 has been smooth sailing in general. It's far from perfect but it works really well for me although I do get an occasional crash here and there. I can't recall - and I've been on board since early v1 - ever having a show stopping bug in a release version. Just minor things that pop up here and there.
Of course, everyone uses it differently so that may not be true for everyone.

I have just tested again, and unfortunately it is there. I mean the midi speed bug. Could be only in Windows 8. I will test Win 7 and OS X tomorrow.LawrenceF wrote: Not seeing either of those here. TheoM wrote: Yep really, they should be $84.15 ea when you add them to cart
that makes tremor even cheaper than the recent charity auction.. it's never been that low AFAIK!
I also paid that for Geist a year back, on the previous sale, and it's insane value. They do it ONCE a year, so i would say, since there is someone selling a second hand studio one professional in the marketplace for $165, you could get the fxpansion stuff and maybe the seller could hold it for a couple weeks if you need to come up with more $$$.
Anyway good luck with whatever you buy, all three at these sale prices are crazy bargains. OH FWIW, studio one turns out to be $169 at JRR but i don't know if there is a way to download that or if you need to add ship on top. Cheers
I thought to buy only one of them (Geist, Tremor), but both are fantastic and have very strong points, so in the end I think I will buy them both and wait till the next sale for S1. I have bought the Producer in the last sale (few months ago I think), so I think there will be another sale soon
Thanks for the info. Tomorrow I will try with JRR Shop as I can't access it tonight (I mean this morning! It is 3:18 a.m.

Producer2 version is actually 92,36 Euros instead of 99 Euros. Is it a bug or a feature?^^

I think that the upgrades work the same for V1 and V2, but that's something that needs to be checked with Presonus support first, of course.whyterabbyt wrote:Is it me, or are there no version upgrades (ie V1 to V2) just in-verson upgrades (Artist to Pro, etc)?auron wrote:Maybe there is more love around for S1 as they have Black Friday sales and 50% off

Some time ago I upgraded from Artist 1 to Producer 2 using the Artist 2 to Producer 2 option, if I remember it well.
