That time we would not have thought a second about that price point...
True. Even the dead bodies of the defective PPG Wave 2.x machines that I bought over time to resurrect them had a (much!) higher price tag. For a 100€ deal I'd have travelled at least through half of Europe to fetch it 8-)

Hahaha, right... everything was so different then. Every time I have carried that monster on stage, it had lost all of it's memory and you needed a cassette tape to reload the presets. Some people do not know what they are complaining about these days...

If you haven't heard my demo tune for WaveGenerator on Mr. Palm's SoundCloud page, you can hear it on mine

https://soundcloud.com/scot-solida/pale-blue-sun

All sounds are made with my own factory patches for WaveGenerator and all of those sounds use my own custom wavetables, many of which were made from various vintage synths, Kyma and even my dear old PPG Waveterm/Wave 2.2. These wavetables were converted into WTS format using the iOS WaveMapper synth. 26 instances of WaveGenerator were used to make the tune and sequenced in Cubase 7.

I'd never heard of those. I just downloaded the metaplugin demo and tried it in Logic Pro 8 (sorry, that's the latest version I have) and WaveGenerator seems to be working fine during the quick play I had with it. Think I'll be buying a metaplugin license!

Scot - if it's just for the WaveGenerator, wait a bit. AU is one of the next things on the list.
Demo version's in the pipeline, too, BTW.

Thanks for the info - I found out about the demo after I tried the metaplugin (I didn't realize that the AU was a sure thing, though). Nah, it's not just for WaveGenerator - I could use metaplugin for quite a lot - it seems very cool. 8)

I'm not sure about Metaplugin but i've used Plogue Bidule to host VSTs in Logic. It generally works OK.

I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

Has there been a recent update, then? My brief experience of Metaplugin in DP 7.24, Mac OS 10.6.8 was that it's so full of bugs as to be almost unusable.

And my emailed bug reports went unanswered…

Deleted from my system.

Yes.. actually, i made multiple posts similar to this myself, to the point of bugging Christian so much that i must have driven the poor guy crazy. Every update and everything that could possibly go wrong, went wrong. I made that very known.

Then out of the blue, he started doing regular updates and fixed it. It's rock solid now, PDC works flawlessly, automation is fine, and i haven't had a plugin crash it for months.

BUT I haven't tested the latest build on snow leopard, only ML and Mav.
Hm, interesting.

Thanks for the heads up - seems I have to resurrect it, then. ;-)
