Thanks Andy good to know.andy-cytomic wrote:I use Juce for my plugin wrapping and someone in the community has done a vst3 wrapper, so as soon as it is added to Juce I'll be able to support vst3 as well.MFXxx wrote:Thanks for the updates Andy. HArd work is certainly paying off...
The Statevar hp2 filter sounds amazing...can't wait.

I couldn't see any way to do this in Thesys, so I emailed Sugar Bytes asking how you could output the sequences as dc couple audio and here is the reply:VariKusBrainZ wrote:Yesandy-cytomic wrote:Can you output the step sequencers as audio?Bathrobe wrote:Thesys actually has a little synth so it does output audio
Happy sidechaining.
Hi Andrew,
there is no way to output the data from Thesys as dc.
Maybe there is some extra gear which can convert MIDI to dc.
Best,
Robert

I've very recently got Live 9 Suite and thus the Glue compressor. I've started a move from Cubase to Live entirely so I wondered if we could expect the Drop - or parts of it - to be included as a future effect in the Live Suite?

I opened the project to do so, and the plugin freezes ok now.andy-cytomic wrote:That doesn't sound good! Can you please email me the project with a single track that you are freezing / bouncing, and a small chunk of audio as well? I will keep it all in the strictest confidence and never share your song nor audio with anyone else, but it can really be useful for debugging what is going on. I'll post back here once I've had a look into things so everyone can be informed in case they also run into this issue.sqigls wrote:I'm having farty noises coming from the Drop when I try to render or Freeze it. I never noticed before, but it's quite hideous. I'm basically f**ked, as there's no way to render it. I'm at 24/48… The Drop is running at the recommended processing rates. Cubase 6.5.5 on OSX 10.8.5 The Drop v.9.18
Any ideas as to what it may be? I'll try to render at 2x (was at 4x) oversampling now and see how it goes… like i say though, I've rendered a lot of stuff with the Drop involved, but never heard it make this distortion before.
EDIT: I just rendered the master at 24/48 with the drop set at 2x render oversampling and the noise seems to be gone.
I can still send the project to you?
Any problems i've had with the Drop seem to be intermittent and random unfortunately.

So a new filter is in progress to Drop.
Are there any plans to add presets?
I've done some myself, but I have a feeling I haven't discovered the potential of this effect nearly fully yet.

Presets and new filters are coming, as well as some vids showing how to use the lfo and envelope followers, and even external sidechain modulation of the cutoff.sl1914 wrote:So a new filter is in progress to Drop.

Progress is going very well on re-coding the entire copy protection and distribution system I use for Cytomic to be able to support AAX Native plugins, which are on the way, and there is VST3 support on the way too.

Just letting you know Andy....The Drop was mentioned as a "fantastic filter plugin" along with WOW2, Volcano 2, FilterFreak, and Philta XL in the latest issue of Computer Music.

Quick feature request/query... would you ever consider doing bandpass filter models in this? It'd obviously require a bit of a GUI overhaul too coz there's only HP and LP in there atm...

You can form a variable width bandpass by setting the hp and lp cutoffs to where you want, and then using the "shift" knob to move both cutoffs together. This is exactly how the band pass mode works on the Jupiter 6, just set both cutoffs to the same frequency, and adjust only one of the resonance controls.mustgroove wrote:Quick feature request/query... would you ever consider doing bandpass filter models in this?
