Late to the party but good to see some familiar names.
I'm guessing props are probably taking the opportunity to update and revamp the forums (as they suggested they would do last year)
Bit sad the forums are down but Im hopeful that this is the case and the new forums will be a bit more logically organised and a RE sub forum is finally implemented.
Maybe the hack scare will be a blessing in disguise in the long run?

2002 Reason 2.0: Malstrom & NNXT
2007 Reason 4.0: Thor
2010 Reason 5.0: Kong and an updated Dr. Rex

That's a long time and I have a hard time believing there are many current heavy users of Reason who would truly want to go back to that kind of development pace, especially nowadays.
Not that it isn't a long time, but to be fair, I believe they did more than add just instruments to each update.

I'm beginning to wonder if there is actually much demand for a forum. I mean their FB and Twitter hasnt exactly been abuzz with activity and all the other unofficial Reason forums are like graveyards.

Just saw a tweet regarding a Black Friday Sale. Keep an eye on the shop and credit card handy!

Jeeze that's creepy. If my cat was killed by a car, i sure wouldn't stuff him and turn him into an aircraft.

I think it's odd and funny that the Props have shutdown their forums as a preventative measure just incase someone might actually try and maybe hit them.

instead of deleting and paying attention to all the spam that has been posted in their forums for the past 2 weeks. way to be on top of things!

Puppeteer anyone? - Larry Niven reference, books - those things with pages and words. yeah way to intellectual I know. carry on!

LOVE the cat pics! LOL.
Yeah, but the Props don't write the vBulletin software behind their forums. If security exploits have been discovered in their build of the forum backend that haven't been fixed yet, I can see why they'd rather take it down until they can upgrade the server software or apply whatever security hotfixes might be needed.
Especially since the accounts are tied to product purchases...

I wonder if this "forum down" affecting license transfers somehow.

New teaser video for Selig's upcoming DeEsser RE:

I'm not aware of any other dedicated deessers in the Prop shop, so I'm sure it'll be a welcome plugin for folks who regularly work with vocals.

Honestly, i wouldn't think there is little demand. In fact, when i was part of it that was the busiest audio forum i'd ever seen!
It was only busy when you were around, Theo. :)

I'm inclined to agree with Simon. All unofficial Reason forums and blogs are ghost towns. Some days there were more non-Reason threads on the first page of the puf.

It's really just the same 30-40 people twiddling their thumbs until something is released in the rack extension shop.

Then when something is released, there's usually a debate about the price, and whether it's better than or at least equal to its vst equivalent.

The forum would be much more lively if we could talk about more things on it, but Propellerheads run a tight ship, as you're well aware.

Tight ship? I wish that were true. I can only speak for the past half year or so, but it's felt pretty much like an anything goes free-for-all without any moderation at all over there and for some time before the forum was taken offline we were getting a continual stream of spam threads that weren't being deleted or cleaned up. As far as alternative communities go, the most consistently active I've seen are on Facebook: the Reasonistas page and the Rack Extensionists group. That's where you're most likely to see all the latest news.
