What are the best acoustic guitar albums (classical, folk, new age, jazz etc) without vocals ? You can also suggest artists. Any suggestions guys ?

Some oldtimers:
* Luiz Bonfá (Brazilian, fifties & onwards)
* Oscar Castro-Neves (ditto, somewhat later)
* Harry Sacksioni (Dutch, seventies)

These are full band albums, with wonderful drumming by Simon Philips, some tasty string synth-type keyboards and I think maybe even a little electric guitar in one or two places, if I remember correctly. There's also some very minimal singing on a track or two. But otherwise it's built around pretty virtuosic acoustic guitar:

- Gordon Giltrap, Visionary
- Gordon Giltrap, Fear of the Dark

A friend turned me on to these. There's another album from his "prog rock" period as well. I don't know what the rest of his catalogue is like, I think it's more acoustic band or solo-orientated, probably worth you checking out.

If you like fingerpicking style, e.g. Stefan Grossman has made great albums,
(Bottleneck Serenade was one of my first "delta blues" records I bought long time ago). H.

Im not looking for blues or flamenco. My inclination is towards classical/neo classical and folk mainly. Like for example I own Greg Joy's "Celtic Secrets 2" and I'm a Malmsteen fan. So basically I guess its soulful intense moody stuff; acoustic because I love the clean pure sound of it.
