Certainly, including some quite forward thinking utility devices like the Combinator which was pretty novel at the time and is still impressively powerful. I was mainly referring to instruments in this case to help illustrate how much they've accelerated their development pace. Propellerhead have actually released more instruments in the past year and a half than they have in the past decade. It's a pretty significant shift. Maybe the sharp increase in employee headcount this past year is what's made that possible.BMoore wrote:Not that it isn't a long time, but to be fair, I believe they did more than add just instruments to each update.Tronam wrote:A lot of people seem to forget just how slowly new instruments were actually introduced to the Reason rack prior to RE and versions 3 and 6 didn't include any instruments at all:
2002 Reason 2.0: Malstrom & NNXT
2007 Reason 4.0: Thor
2010 Reason 5.0: Kong and an updated Dr. Rex
That's a long time and I have a hard time believing there are many current heavy users of Reason who would truly want to go back to that kind of development pace, especially nowadays.
So the Propellerhead's forum is down. Post in here if you normally post there.

A small tidbit regarding AudioRealism's upcoming rack instrument:
"About the RE, we're ready to start beta testing it very soon. It should be out in a few weeks. I can't tell you much but it's an emulation of a popular polysynth from the 80s!"
Interesting. I had first thought this would end up being an SH-101 emulation, but now I'm doubtful. Their beta thread hit nearly 1000 views quite fast so information still seems to be disseminating pretty quickly despite the Prop forum's absence.

Only 30% Radical instruments? Buying Keys+Piano now is hardly cheaper than buying the Radical Bundle. But oh wait, you can't buy the bundle, because they just removed it. How convenient.

The sale on Radical Piano/Keys is primarily for people who want only one of the two and not the bundle so they can get a nice discount anyway.loungepanda wrote:Only 30% Radical instruments? However, if you buy both for the Black Friday discount they're still cheaper than the bundle so there was really no reason to still have the bundle online during the sale. We wouldn't want someone buying the bundle and then being upset because it was more expensive than the discounted products.

For that price it's a steal.zeebot wrote:Revival is 50% off, That is nice for a really interesting device.
So are the Kuassa rack extensions. They were actually a steal before the sale.
It's a pretty good Black Friday sale, but I'm still hoping for a "25 days of Christmas" sale like they had last year.

Revival is an excellent sounding synth for sure. The FX section is sweet, worth the asking price imo. The dev is a former Cakewalk Z3ta dev as well. He tweeted he is finishing up another RE, I cant wait to see what it will be as he promised to keep things original and different.

Some nice sounds in there, but that middle Harmonic Modifier section turns the RE into an bloody awful eyesore.krucial wrote:Revival is an excellent sounding synth for sure. The PDF manual is excellent. However, at the end of the PDF - Appendix 2 - it says that there is a Quick Start Tutorial coming soon - which hasn't arrived yet and to stay tuned for upcoming video tutorials on their YouTube channel - which has no such videos - and it has been 4 months since initial release.
All that said, it is a pretty unique device unknown in VST-land, and it's the only Black Friday purchase that I'm mulling over. I wish the RE could be collapsed. showing just the FX Section...
