Well, 50e/365 = 0.13 a day. 0.19 in $. I think i can live with that and allow steinberg to carry on and bring an UPDATED FREEZE IN C8 (hint

I just watched all the promo videos on DV247.com

Its like they have added a cut down version of Maschine (I have Maschine 2), a tape effect (I have Satin) a Turnado or Finger like effects (I have both!) a sample player and loops (I have Komplete 9)...its a great if you haven't been in to VST/VSTi before- they are all good tools for new entrants who haven't got anything else, and I guess that's where they are aiming now- new customers to DAWS, who has the most stuff included?

A great update if you buying your first DAW- anyone who has been doing this for a while will probably have better/go to versions of everything Steiny has added. As for the 'EDM' toolkit....I'm surprised they didn't add a wobble synth

Hopefully 8 will concentrate on recording live instruments and layered linear audio/midi editing, as that is what I use it for (recording guitars etc.), I prefer Live when I am making EDM/IDM type stuff- but I guess if you can only have 1 DAW and make both EDM/Loop based music and linear style recording then some of this stuff is useful?

I really wonder, if they did a poll, how many existing Cubase users want more bundled effects and instruments with their Cubase updates?

Looks like quite a nice update to me, esp. with the QC presets thingee, the track visibility options, and the improved instrument rack. And if they wanna throw in a few new vst's for the ride - that's fine...SB makes some decent plug-ins. Would like to see a bug fix list though...

Anyone know if REVelation is true stereo? My current go-to TS algo reverb is VRoom, but I've spent the last few years pruning my external plugin stash and I'm now at a point where if something's already in my DAW (and decent), I'll make it work.

Cubase 5.5 was the first one I bought (migrated from Sonar) and I've to say It's the best DAW I've tried. It offers incredible amount of features, especially MIDI related (events processing) and besides adding new synths and plugins they really update the core of this app.
I have only one issue: Cubase it's very unstable with third party plugins. Many of them works with Sonar, but not with Cubase

but overall I wouldn't replace Cubase with any other daw

To paraphrase a quote attributed to Churchill; "Cubase is the worst DAW... after all the others that have been tried."

I'm curious to play around with the new 7.5 Instrument tracks and associated multi-out. Still curious about how it actually works.

I assume you add an Instrument track and the VST also appears automatically in the F11 rack?

I see one important feature (for me)... Multi-Out instrument track/rack (seems to be some merging of the old VST rack and instrument tracks)

and this is exactly where steinberg goes with cubase. same as other developers... who apart from focusing on newcomers also try to offer features and innovations to attract and tempt to convert long established cubendo and pro tool user base. due to really tough competition around steinberg's efforts have more to do with catching up rather than taking a lead. cubase software concept was and still is stellar but people who run the steins business sadly lost the plot a bit...

Very bad business practice. I have no qualms about the idea of paid mid-version upgrades, but at least leave the previous version in a nice robust state before moving on--otherwise, you're leaving the people who don't want to upgrade to the new version with a bunch of bugs that will never be fixed. And really, 7.0 is still pretty young--an upgrade at this point just seems like a money-grab.

I guess I had kind of moved on already, so it doesn't really matter that much to me, but this just seems kind of scummy to me.

Considering almost all of the enhancement of the 7.5 update affect things only available in either Artist or the full version, and the fact that Elements/LE/AI never saw a 6.5 update due to the same reasons i would say never.

Still, it's well worth €50 for those who do use 7. I like the update to Groove Agent. I always found the included drum kits a bit thin sounding though.
Overall I can't see myself upgrading as I already paid for the upgrade to 7 from 6.5 and I don't use it at all.

Exactly how it was when 6.5 came out. Hell Steinberg continue giving bug fixes to previous full versions - so 5 was still getting updates when 6 came out etc.

So where does this rubbish come from ???

Wow, relax! If I made a mistake, I am happy to be wrong in this case. Just take it easy, though--it's going to be okay.

If I'm wrong, then awesome on Steinberg. I didn't realize they did that with version 6.
