I can get the Z3Ta+2 upgrade for $24.50. Having version 1, do I really need it? I'm pretty much just a preset user/tweaker. I don't do any real programming or sound design. I love really rich beautiful sounding pads. How is Z3TA+2 for pads?

Damn these sales! Just purchased Z3ta, not sure I even need it given that I own Sylenth, Spire, Synthmaster and Massive but I just could not resist.
No single synth purchase in 2014, I swear!

You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

In addition to all the packed content, don't forget that there are free stuff to be had too, like the awesome Muzeum expansion:

Better sound, better user interface, ability to modulate the wave shaping functions. Should be a no-brainer as Numanoid said.heffus wrote:I can get the Z3Ta+2 upgrade for $24.50. Z3ta+ 2 is a great synth for tweakers because it has MUCH more features than Sylenth. Sylenth is a great synth for getting good EDM sounds instantly without being overwhelmed by loads of tabs and features.
And there are some great soundsets for Z3ta+ 2 from Xenos and Digital Sound Factory (both with Black Friday discounts)...

It doesn't cost anything to either open a Waves account or download the plugin
So it would be hard to argue against that it is free

Well, of course it's their goal to get new customers. They wouldn't give something away for free if not for marketing purposes...layzer wrote:they require an email addy to a dl link and serial#...then in the email they require to make a waves account to register the serial.... free, yeah. suk it waves.D-Lay wrote: PS. ...and we learn stuff in the process too:
If you should happen to be an Engineer and an artist approaching you wanting advice about buying some effect plugins, perhaps from Waves.
Wouldn't it then be good that you could help this guy/gal with how it is done from step one to the end?
Or would you say, no I have no clue because they want you to open an account with them, so I've never bothered with Waves?

Lol no this is just how i make music normally.Tricky-Loops wrote:Are you making songs with AutoCAD?V0RT3X wrote:
I love adding tons of details to my sounds, I don't know why I just do. If your not familiar with what's in the picture it's basically a bunch of automation channels that Live displays for the current instrument. It does look like a drawing or something though! Sometimes i look at the lines and stuff when i make music and think of oldschool games
I also realized that I did not take advantage of the curves that Ver 9 has to offer. I always seem to forget.
This particular demo was sort of sloppy because I never used the draw tool to get all the points to snap to the nearest grid but i guess that adds to the "organic" style of the sound.
My opinion is that Z3TA+2 is a must own synthesizer if you are keen on doing sound design stuff! I still have so much to learn with it but I really like the possibilities so far!
I like Sylenth1 but it's not something that really excites me because it lacks a lot of the nerdy synthesizer programming options that keeps me interested. However it does make programming "Bread&Butter" style sounds really fast and it sounds pretty good with barely any CPU hit.
Maybe if LennarDigital makes a Sylenth2 with more sound design options I'll probably check it out but I think for me I will be buying either Zebra2 or Spire next.
MY advice to the op if you are a total newbie in synthesis maybe go for Sylenth1 because you will get more musical sounding and useable stuff out of Sylenth1 faster and it is easier to learn. Sylenth1 has that "Instant gratification" factor and ease of use that makes it a real crowd pleaser. Also I should point out if you are looking to recreate accurate vintage analog synth sounds with either you might get frustrated. Sylenth1 can come somewhat close but for this stuff i would recommend either Synthsquad, Monark or Diva.

When I saw Ren Bass was their freebie this year, at first I was gutted cuz I'd just bought it in a Ren Max bundle last Boxing Week. However, I realized that it should mean a free year's WUP on my very favourite Waves plug.
I think it's worth the licensing pain, despite Waves licensing breaking whenever I install my work VPN software. Can't even have it installed, never mind connected!
Aggravating but acceptable, as I've yet to find a comparable bass enhancer.
I've also installed DCAM's useful FreeComp and NI's Driver, both from same marketing premise: give away a licensed plug to get people used to your system. (DCAM's seems the least intrusive so far)
