Further evidence to support the theory that audio engineers should not be allowed to be graphic interface designers or even have final say. 
Seriously though, sounding good is the most important thing of all and I don't need a spectrum window for my EQs, but even in small rack devices like this first visual impressions do count for something. Even a redesign of the color scheme would go a long ways to improving it.
One of the biggest features of R7 for me was the big resizable spectrum analyzer window. It's so easy to bring up at any time with a quick tap of F2 that you can run it alongside any device and see what it's doing. It really helped alleviate the need for such an interface in EQs like this.
