Dude... they are still being cleared out of warehouses, albeit slowly.

and BTW, and bunch of us got them for $179 not too long ago.
$399 is a steep price for the keyboard.
Wait for a better deal, or catch one on eBay.

Oh, I got it discounted last year, thus the sound-sets.

Oddly they never went out of stock, perhaps still being produced.

That then would be a great marketing strategy. Low sales, sell a number of units for a low price, create a community that praise it so more people want it, and continue sale for the original price.

Background: MAudio was sold from Avid to the group to which belong Alesis, AkaiPro, Numark etc. Soon after the blow-out sale of the Venom followed. Good for some retailers who could aquire a lot of Venoms cheap but bad for those who could not but still had some at the original price in stock. No chance to sell these during the blow out sale - only some time after that blow out sale a return at least some of their investment at a less reduced price from the original was possible as new Venoms are hardly available any more.

Yes, but as I say, you have to switch to the Aux tab and click on Open next to "Single Bundle" at the bottom right.

The UI wasn't exactly designed by a genius.

Sorry to bring this up again. I downloaded the two Ray Brunella banks and did exactly like you said (including the renaming). Only, nothing happens

I can't load them this way. Or the usual "file->open way" for that matter. I even tried to move the banks into a whole different directory. I'm using vers. 1.20 (latest one from feb 2013)
Anyone else having this problem? The excee_analog_prime banks works fine but obviously that's in another file format.

Did you also navigate after loading? Because when I load the banks, it still looks like I've not loaded them because the editor doesn't refresh. It also still plays the previous sound. What works for me is switching the bank to something else, and then switching back to the bank I just loaded. When I switch back to the bank I loaded, the sound updates and ray's name appears in the author field.

Other than that, check you're in single mode, no idea if that makes a difference but worth a shot.

Just remember that there's no obvious indication that the bank loaded - it really seems like nothing has happened because the UI doesn't update and the sound isn't changed.

Admittedly, I hadn't tried any of these ideas. but sadly no of them worked

I really hate this stuff. Playing guessing games with a synth isn't really my idea of fun. It simply makes me move on to something else.
I'm quite amazed you figured out how make it work for you. Looks like trial and error.

Does anyone know what the "PRE FILTER BOOST" NRPN number its is not in the manual.
I just mapped the whole synth to one of my midi controllers and this is the only missing parameter; apart from the arp - If anyone knows those NRPNs please do tell. Having full hands on control of this synth is amazing, no need to turn on PC or plug ipad if I want to change anything + its finally easy to use it as an effect processor too:)

Thanks for replay, butI can't program SYSEX commands on my controller unfortunately, oh well...
Any way have you made any progress with your VST controller? Have you been able to work in the Multi mode yet?
