I am just entertaining myself. Would never buy a program like Bitwig in the first placeTheoM wrote:So you're leaving reason?
I have left Reason for a whole year now. Somehow I produce more music when I stick to my iPad only. More simplistic and more fun. Just got my new iPad mini with Retina and it rocks for mobile production. What about you, still on Logic or waiting for erm...Bitwig?

Maybe I should buy one of these:IncarnateX wrote:Somehow I produce more music when I stick to my iPad only. More simplistic and more fun.
Even more simplistic and fun... less expensive and needs no updates.

Hmm. Well actually this is a pity. Between people suffering from GAS like us I can assure that our symptoms are much cheaper when channelized to the iPad than to PC. Most apps are 10% or less than any VSTi prices and the range of apps is much smaller too.TheoM wrote: i have a few ipad apps like the korg electribe and garageband and a couple synths and a drum synth thingy but i just don't enjoy it for some reason. I only end up using it as a controller (or games! yeeha!) Cheers
Well, good luck with it all, though, may it be the upcoming sandboxing of Logic, bugs of Cubase or.....BITWIG, the neverending story.

Good question... I don't remember anyone asking about groove options in BWSguppi wrote:Hi,
does Bitwig have a Swing knob or do we have to use some sort of quantization templates? And does it work also on delays and envelopes?
Big thanks Thomas

any integrated samplers? for sample libraries? like a built in Kontakt sort of thing?

There is a built in sampler like Live. You can set it up with multiple samples for different keys, velocity levels on the same keys and stuff like that. Its not as deep as kontakt though in terms of features since kontakt is pretty complex and allows stuff like scripting.
Any instruments you want to load into it will have to be in it's own format, otherwise you'll have to set it up load each individual sample in yourself.
It will come with it's own library of sampler intruments. I don't really know how many or how good they are. Companies may eventually sell libraries in bitwig format like some do for Live, but then again there were never that many that sold in Live's format.

Yep, good question, here some screenshots:

The global settings sit up there next to the control panel.

These are the settings you have for Midi.

And basically the same for Audio.
You can also see the grid settings.
And since we talked about the buttons for Audio Clips lately: when you work on Pitch, Pan, Onsets etc. - those modes all come with specific grids and snapping. Pitch for instance snaps to note-values etc.
Cheers,
Tom
