I have a bunch of samples (750+, 3.15Gb... University of Iowa sampleset, sound gorgeous) that I've converted from aiff to wav (and ogg, as it happens). Each sample contains up to an octave of individual, well-spaced sustained notes. The gaps aren't entirely silent but are pretty close.

I don't need to cut them into separate files - I just want a quick way to generate a list sample start and end points. I've been doing it painstakingly by hand in Audacity. I'm hoping there's a better way that gives a good enough result.

Anyone got any recommendations? Command-line tools preferred, by the way.
