I've always been guilty of this.. but really the more I look at it the more I see it's not just me.
Seems like people flock to music production with little to no knowledge of music as a language myself included. This led me down a path of tons of technological know how but in the end I still made shitty music.
Anyhow from now on I've decided to go back to the basics and learn music as a language and I'm going to really focus on piano and theory. I of course won't stop learning how to mix better or sound design stuff but I think this will help me out probably the MOST with my own personal musical goals.
Anyone else feel this way?

proud of you, Vort !
It's very likely that 3 to 6 months in; you're gonna want to say "f*ck it" and stop studying. BE STRONG and learn the old fashioned reasons as to why things sound the way they sound & how they got there. It will make you make better music

i think that's a pretty accurate assessment. i got in to music production after years of playing cello and guitar and playing in bands. i know no music theory but experience playing over the (increasing all too fast) years has certainly helped whilst composing.V0RT3X wrote: Seems like people flock to music production with little to no knowledge of music as a language
