I should also note that this initial work is OSX only. I'll finish up all the ports in OSX first, then move over to Windows. Currently, Windows Pro Tools is a fairly tiny market segment, but I wouldn't be surprised if this starts growing, as the new Mac Pro doesn't seem particularly well suited as a Pro Tools HD/HDX machine.

Yesterday, I finally got the Pace Eden code signing working. ValhallaVintageVerb is currently running as an AAX64 plugin in Pro Tools 11. Not the debug version of Pro Tools - the full on, consumer version.
Great news, thanks for the update.

ValhallaVintageVerb will also have new reverb modes. The other plugins will be straight ports.
I'll be excited to get the new reverb modes. Fun. I'll also be thrilled when you can move on to focussing on the fun stuff, instead of the porting and bugfix stuff.

Well, the new reverb modes for VintageVerb ARE fun, for me at least. Playing around with nonlinearities within reverb loops is yielding some nice, subtle changes to the base sound.

Sounds like I'm going to have to watch my gain staging more and more. I have some plate and spring reverbs that are non-linear, too. And one "digital reverb" vst that screams horribly like it's somehow doing more than just clipping when you overload it.

I really like the sound of UberMod doing some of that non-linear feedback stuff. The drone presets start me off well for creating cool atmospheres with the self-oscillation. Really looking forward to the new modes from Valhalla Vintage Verb. Good luck, and may the code gods smile upon you. :)

The nonlinearities are REALLY SUBTLE. No self oscillation, even with the decay time maxed out and the bass multiply turned up the whole way (i.e. as much internal feedback as you can get). I'm just trying to get a little closer to the older fixed point hardware, as opposed to heading into fuzz box or oscillating tape echo territory.

Do you have any ETA on when the AAX-versions will be released? Looking forward to getting VVV!

Yeh, how about letting a beta loose for us to test? :hyper:

I'm going into Don Gunn's studio tomorrow for the last round of VeeThree tuning. I worked with Don in voicing the VeeThree algorithms, and I can't speak highly enough of doing this work in a nicely tuned room with a great engineer to tell you when things suck.

After this, I need to add the right optimization flags to the projects, recompile, and make sure I haven't broken things. Next, add AAX and new presets to the installer, build and test. At this point, the OSX beta should (hopefully) be ready for testing. After that has been hammered on for awhile, I'll move things over to Windows.

That is of course a very precise announcement of the estimated time of arrival! ;):D
(Not complaining, just had to smile.)

I hope to release the first VintageVerb beta sometime today or tonight. ValhallaRoom will take an extra day or two.

Nice! Is there a Windows version yet?

Not yet. I'll work on that after the OSX testers have hammered out the bugs.

Sounds great!
