Hi everyone, I'm a freelance composer and recently launched a big symphonic fantasy album on Kickstarter: Eternity Rising (http://kck.st/1crtRpz)I've been looking for places to talk about it but a lot of sites seem to forbid mentioning anything about your own work- let alone a kickstarter effort.
Plus the genre of symphonic/soundtrack music is not nearly as prevalent as say, hip hop or dance music etc, and is difficult to find online communities that are welcoming to that sort of thing.
I was wondering if any of you guys knew of some nice music places to post on?
Also, for any fellow composers out there, how do you go about promoting your work? I've been making music for a long time but have always found it difficult to get any sort of word out about it, without being labeled as a "spammer" and being deleted/banned. It got me wondering how on Earth anyone else gets their work out there... without having some sort of giant personal social network share everything for you, which I definitely don't have at all.
It's very difficult to be successful as a musician (or anything else) when nobody gives you a chance to even show what you can do, which is all I ever ask really. But I'm just a music guy, not a promoter, so there's probably a lot I am just missing. If anyone has any tips, that would be awesome!
