No probs! if it doesn't float your boat from what you have seen you probably don't need it as much as the many many people who already got it.RawSound wrote:Ok, so i (and many others) have no plans to buy right now...Phil Sonic Academy wrote:...with Kick its easy to see what it does / how it sounds etc.

Price is good so might try this. I've tried metrum I did like it but the price just for a kick drum plugin was too expensive. This could be a better option. But take of the the nicky logo just spoils the look.

the Plugin is fully user skinable so you can make it look however you like.

I understand that we can make our own skins, but will there be a release of this that isn't endorsed by Nicky Romero? Just a regular version called "Kick" so that we don't have to have stare at his name in our plugin folder or on the GUI?

A demo without the option to 'bounce' and save presets would be handy.
Hopefully some of those people who have bought Kick can comment here

I feel the same when working with Kickstart. Interestingly, the Cable Guys have hidden the resources in OSX, you can't Photoshop the Nicky Romero logo out of the interface. I'm sure you can hack the resources file but the irregular patten in the background makes it difficult to Photoshop. Its not impossible, and of course this has nothing to do with Sonic Academy. However, a lot of effort has gone into ensuring the Nicky Romero branding is inescapable.

or... you can use volumeShaper by the Calbe Guys which can do what Kickstart does and more + isn't endorsed by Nicky Romero.Everglide wrote:djanthonyw wrote:I understand that we can make our own skins, but will there be a release of this that isn't endorsed by Nicky Romero? So where's this photoshop template that was talked about for Kick?

I think the refusal to offer a demo on something as inherently sound design oriented as this is a mistake, but I agree the long video gives a very good impression of capability. Nothing can replace a hands on experience in designing your own sounds, though.
It would also help if the dev wouldn't taunt people asking for a demo by saying "many many many etc." people have already acquiesced to buying without trying. That belittles the whole idea of why developers usually provide demos, which is unprofessional.
