I think it's the same in C6(and 6.5)? If you have it open behind other windows the first F3 key press closes it, second one opens it. Same exact behavior is on plugin guis. Could be better, true. But no biggie. Certainly not something to bitch about on every Cubase threadsoundpalace wrote: * F3 key sometimes doesn't open the mixer (you have to hit it twice)
It seems as if the New thing, the mixer, gets all the bashing even though things haven't changed that much.. and indeed are the same elsewhere. It's just because it's new. This is a very classic "change resistance" phenomenon, which is quite common the older you get. I'm sure none of the people who have problems are under 40.
And btw. I hardly ever open or close the mixer as I've assigned a Workspace for this. If Workspaces are a new thing to someone in Cubase, you have to check them out! Those solve most of the problems people tend to have with Cubases open Gui windowing system. Use them!
Haven't noticed this, but does make sense. More to draw takes more time to draw. No surprises there. Haven't had any lags myself though.soundpalace wrote: * Mixer is slow to open and laggy when scrolling through on bigger projects (v6 is much faster)
Totally agree. Some things could be more inline with the rest of the look. I just think that Steinberg didn't wan't to change too much at the same time. Most of the things you usually use should anyway be assigned to keyboard commands you can quickly use, so this isn't that big of an issue for professionals, or semi-pros. When you learn to use the whole system efficiently some of the GUI inefficiencies don't matter that much. It's a tool, not a piece of art or demonstration of perfect GUI-design. Just like some plugins that look ugly(krhm.. Sylenth..) are still very useful because of what they sound like. But sure, improvement could be made, it's just not something in my opinion that Steinberg should waste their time on, when they can create something as great as Asio Guard or Chord tracks instead.soundpalace wrote: * Mixer interface (GUI) is not at all consistent with the arrange page (e.g. mute, solo, record and monitor buttons .etc)
Really hope that we see a lot more refinement in 7.5, but it doesn't appear that much work has gone into improving the mixer in the videos posted so far.

mkdr thanks for your feedback. The F3 bug in Cubase 7 is not quite what you're thinking. There are times that the mixer was closed while I was using the Trial where F3 simply didn't respond the first time and I had to hit it a second time. This happened to me a number of times. I have never once seen this happen in Cubase 6.
But as you said, my gripes were not big ones and if Cubase 7.x offered something I really wanted (e.g. bounce in place), I think I would be upgrading. As I mentioned above, it's really hard to move to a new version when v6.5 is by far the most bug-free DAW I have ever used!

No, the irony was directed at Stonebergh, not you. Its ironic that they announce that it is "available", while we cant get to the page.Gambapaketera wrote:Its not an attempt at trolling or to begin an argument with you, i am genuinely interested.

Ah, sorry. I misunderstood. Count that as my gui improvement idea thensoundpalace wrote:mkdr thanks for your feedback. The F3 bug in Cubase 7 is not quite what you're thinking. Yes, of course. Something that i live by too. If it's not broken(and you are happy with how it works) don't fix it! I've updated to C7 because of the new features i wanted, but C6.5 was great too. Until you see the same need, stick with what works the best for you!soundpalace wrote: But as you said, my gripes were not big ones and if Cubase 7.x offered something I really wanted (e.g. bounce in place), I think I would be upgrading. Now that Steinberg has evaluation versions it's even easier to decide if you want to update. I'd suggest using that option to everyone who has doubts about new versions. I'm off to buy the update now though
