As title said today is 20 years mr.Zappa passed away...

Besides being extraordinaliry gifted Zappa also had a very consistent output over the decades. He was never a "has-been" and I'm sure he'd still be very relevant today had he lived on. Very few artists can reach the same status. Miles Davis is the only other one that comes to mind right now.

If he was still alive today he would be power user of Cubase or some other DAW.
He was one of the earliest utilizers of DAW-like software in the 80's, and got a Grammy for his work with Jazz from Hell, which was 80% Synclavier only.

When George Duke passed on a few months ago, I had occassion to check out some stuff on youtube in which Duke collaborated with Zappa. From there it was an easy jump to a wealth of Zappa interviews (including three ten minute segments in which Dick Cavette dedicated an entire show to the interview with Zappa). What emerges is that Zappa, for all his perceived weirdness, was one of the sanest, most grounded individuals in the contemporary music scene in the last half century. Totally fascinating guy as well as unquestionable musical genius.
