Hello I've been the proud owner of RC full version for about 2 weeks. First, thanks for the sale. RC has definitely become central in the creation of my new song ideas. I'm on a windows 7 computer using the 64 bit version.

When I click the icon for single note editing in a track with chords, the notes are doubled all over the place. So there is a duplicate progression underneath the one I'm trying to edit and the notes of the chords are doubled in length as well. It makes editing notes practically impossible.

Also is there is a way to make the chord generator default to a certain length. I'd like my progressions to default to "bar" when I drag in a chord generator or choose to fill a track with chords. If not can this be added please.

Lastly when using RC in ableton live 9 when I drag I drag the midi from RC to a clip in ableton and it's 4 bars, the measurement display doesn't match. So even though it's a 4 bar progression and it plays for 4 bars, in ableton display wise it's like squashed into one bar. So it's playing for the the total of 4 bars but it's like some kind of micro-measurement, so I have to zoom all the way in to make the note display as they should but it still doesn't show 4 bars. Thanks.

Hello ThatKid,

Welcome to this forum, and thank you for joining us!

I am just guessing but in Note Editing mode you see 6 notes for the Chord Generator, right? This is because enough notes are created to be usable with a 6-note chord, e.g. an acoustic guitar chord. The unused notes are removed when rendering the phrase for a less complex chord. For example you can set up a note to be the 4th chord note, but when the phrase is rendered for a major chord, that note will be removed/ignored.
and the notes of the chords are doubled in length as well
This can be possible if you resized the phrase. In Note Editing mode you edit the original, unresized phrase with no variations applied to it. In Phrase Editing mode the final, rendered phrase is shown.
I'd like my progressions to default to "bar" when I drag in a chord generator or choose to fill a track with chords. If not can this be added please.
I agree, this is absolutely needed. There should be a setting for the default length when you add a phrase generator. E.g. 1 Bar, 2 Bars, 2,3,4,etc Beats. I'll make sure this is added in the next update.

Thanks,
Attila

Can we have an option to disable this function because it clutters the track. When I try to edit the note of a chord, let say I don't want to transpose the entire chord but just want to add a note or move a note around to get a different color to the chord, there are unnecessary notes taking up space in the track. I tried to shorten one of the notes in a chord and when I went back to phrase edit mode nothing happened because it was one of those guitar notes. I had to go back and forth between note and phrase edit mode trying to guess if I had found the right note. This is very not good for work flow but...

I am having much fun making music with RC and can say that this is the most rewarding experience I've had working with any software. I think that working on ways to edit elements will strike the ideal counter balance to the generating capabilities.

I'd like to be able to transpose notes and chords using the arrow keys please. As well as editing note lengths from the front of the note.

Also for drum tracks: and I understand what RC is suppose to be in relation to "full fledged daws" but daws can't really compare to what you have built IMHO. So, with that said lets have drum tracks with grids that are relevant to laying down some beats. I imported some of the midi drum patterns but the notes were just in space with no easy way to move the drums around to fit the part. Having a drum grid would remedy this. 8th up to 64th notes would be just great as a start. A little swing and the ability to export drum patterns would be awesome.:D

Well, gotta get back to RC, been away all day. I think I'll try some exotic chord progressions tonight. There are no limits. 8)

I am happy that you are having fun, that was the aim when RapidComposer was created.

Only the Chord Generator creates 6 notes.
If that is disturbing and you are sure that you won't need more than 3 or 4, you can double-click on the Chord Generator and remove the top 3 notes in the phrase editor. Apply the changes, and then you can easily make copies or ghost copies in the composition.

Sure, good idea! This will be added in the next update (v2.6)

Right, drum tracks are badly needed. I am sure this will be implemented soon.

Thanks,
Attila
