Hi Tom,widdershins wrote:Hello everyone, I'm the developer.
Congrats on this plugin... I'd be all over it like a bad rash, but for the fact it's OSX 10.8 only. I run 10.6, and my machine can't even update to 10.8 if I wanted to. I'm curious though why your app is 10.8 only ? Is it because you're not running 10.6 yourself, or because you're using some kind of code or libraries only available on 10.8 ? If it's possible to run/develop this on 10.6 if the demand was there - consider this post to be the first such request. In this thread anyway
good luck!

The framework I'm using (JUCE) supports AAX, so there is certainly a possibility in the future. I've never used Pro Tools in my life, so I'll have to buy a copy, etc.re_mute wrote:Any plans for Pro Tools AAX?
For now I'll get the AU & VSTs tight and stable, then I may think about it in a couple of months if there's demand.

Hi, and thanks! The demand's definitely there, several people have asked me about it already.ChiTown24 wrote: Hi Tom,

10.6 support is my biggest regret about the design process. When I began developing The Mangle, I was very naive, and I used the latest programming language features (known as C++11). I didn't realise, however, that Apple never built those libraries into 10.6. The code is now shot through with C++11, making it quite hard to undo. I've done lots of research into ways to get C++11 stuff working on 10.6, but it looks pretty bleak unfortunately.
I could kick myself for this, because I agree like many that 10.6 was the best OS X yet. I think 10.8 is pretty good too, but some say it doesn't play nicely with Logic 9. Is that true?
On the other hand, using C++11 has enabled me to write faster, smaller code, in less time, which has been an enormous help.
There's one small consolation - I have now managed to configure the builds to run on 10.7 Lion (which does include C++11), so that opens it up to a few more people, but 10.6 support looks unlikely at this stage unfortunately.
Curse you, backward compatibility! *Shakes fist at God*

Very cool synth! Anyway, add me to the list of people hoping for AAX (PC) in future.

I only installed it and played around with it for about five minutes, but it seems to be working fine on Mavericks (Logic Pro X) here.marcoskohler wrote:Does this work with Mavericks?

though it makes me sad face so hard. picture me mega sad-facing
though when I can {hopefully} afford to upgrade my machine in 6 months, I'll have to begrudgingly have a 10.7 partition for some tools anyway. So, until then mon ami, I'll just have to follow progress longingly from the sidelines
Good luck once again.

Good news! Looks like you've chosen a really focused feature set and done it properly - I'm looking forward to itwiddershins wrote:I hope to have a Windows version out before Christmas, so watch this space.Sound Guru
Can the sequencer steps be constrained in fractions? Can you copy/paste modulations between layers? And do a video showing how the multiple slots can be mixed! Actually, ignore all that - just get and finish it!
