i my experience so far, Spire has been fine with my CPU. Nowhere as bad as the previous incarnation of LuSH-101 for example. Pads are the only thing that has really done a job on my machine, as one would expect. I use Spire along side of Zebra and they both seem to use around the same amount of juice. They work well as a team too, in my opinion.

Spire sounds great, it's fun and easy to use, and the developers are very responsive.
Why would a person NOT own this synth?

Soon we will demonstrate the results of optimization.
hopefully that demonstration is before Nov. 30th! :-)

Spire oscillator optimization :)
Hey nice! That's looking like the cpu has been halved. I just checked the site and apparently it's still 1.08 for download. I'm looking forward to demoing 1.10.

Man, I really hate plugins coming with an installer that doesn't get directories right. I always use the vstplugin path which is created by my NI Komplete 8 install process (c:\Program Files\Native Instruments\VSTPlugins 32 bit\). Why the heck does the Spire installer put the files into c:\Program Files (x86)\Native Instruments\VSTPlugins 32 bit\? Same crap happens when installing d16 software. Fix this please! :x :x :x :x

It put it where its supposed to be. NI makes special folders for itself. DO NOT try to install other plugins there or else you'll have a massively screwed up computer...

Agreed. My Spire installation follows whatever has been set in the registry as it should so you have likely got that Native Instruments path set as your default VST path.

I think it's located in your registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SOFTWARE / VST / VSTPluginsPath. If you're on an x64 OS, then you should also have the x32 path under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SOFTWARE / Wow6432Node / VST / VSTPluginsPath although I'm not 100% sure about that location.

The thing I hate is when plugins try to install in a folder named Steinberg. I have no folder named Steinberg and, no, I don't want you to create one...

So is V1.1 still in development then? Or is the demo behind?

v1.1 is not out yet. The guys are also adding a preset browser so the next version will probably take a while to drop. Cant wait to see what they have in store for us! :)

I had a plugin which wanted to install itself into a folder named "Cakewalk" recently. :nutter:

Looking forward to the 1.10 version. I don't have any issues with performance on my aging i5 2500 (Windows) based PC. But more optimizations the better I say! :)
