I'd just say it's kvr being kvr.miedex wrote:Ogopogo wrote:People care how good the program and their support is. Not how much a bunch of guys on the internet tore their hair out before it came out.

bitwig deserves some of the opinions, regardless of what side. But I am changing my stripes a bit that looks like it's not going to be months before there is a product. I get the feeling it will be soon enough.
I'll tell you this, for all the ones REALLY waiting, I really hope it works out for them. I know all too well what it's like to not have things that work!
All the best!

Compared to sociopaths because they don't sit around answering every question? Even after they allowed the beta testers to divulge every piece of information they wish? Because they don't sit down every quarter to tell you exactly what they are doing to make you feel better? Why should they, really? What do you expect them to say? "Yes, we are still working on it. Yes, we are dealing with feature x right now. No we are not sure how exactly it will look in the final version. Yes, we still want to release it this year. Yes, we are considering adding that." They have said as much in twitter, facebook and youtube.
And how can you say that they are not communicating enough and in the same breath complain about the videos they are releasing? The videos show the work they have done! They show the features working. Did you even bother to think about that? So should they not show the videos, so that you can complain even more about lack of info instead of complaining about feelings teased? You talk like they are showing the videos and holding back the product on purpose. I mean maybe there is another reason for that, like the fact that it is not ready for release yet.
What question is there that can't be settled by the release? The proof is in the pudding. You will see everything then, and the only thing left to wonder about is if it took them too long or not, and you can't make a judgement about that anyway because you have no idea whats involved in making a program like that.
There is no end to the cynicism these guys have to deal with. It's like squashing bugs, another one always pops up. All because they spend their time working instead of managing your expectations and reassuring you about something that is going to be proven one way or another in the end.
You must not have even read much of this thread. Because there is a huge amount of information straight from the people who are actually using the program.
If you want to discount a tool simply because you wish they had told you more about how they were making it then go ahead, but I can assure you that the majority of people will not be masking that mistake. It's a bunch of nonsense. I mean, do you hear yourself? "It's the companies job to make sure that I am confident about the product, without trying the product. Forget them for expecting that I will form my opinion by actually using the thing. I must be sold!"

Ok, what do you want them to say? And what is the mold that needs cleaning? Do you expect them to manage all internet conversations so that people don't say bad stuff about them?miedex wrote:its a dynamic world. as men, the bitwig company could have seen what was happening here and used the logic in their brain to orchestrate a better flow of dialog. as men, they have the power to let mold gather in the frig, or to clean it out and use the common sense that they control to make sure it doesn't get unsanitary and full of negativity.
my response is'nt to pile on the negativity but a reaction to negativity that has matured and has become fully saturated.

You kidding?? This thread has been great for Bitwig... Show me another host thread that is approaching 200 pages!miedex wrote:I believe the existence of this thread may end up costing them profit. but now after all these worthless threads and posts i feel like bitwig already has 10 years worth of kvr shit smeared on I kind of hate the thing just for the frustration and anxiety its generated in this world.

I suspect you are communicating more about yourself than about Bitwig

Yes, it is a dynamic world, and there are a diversity of experiences. For example, I have been finding this thread quite enjoyable. There have been lots of good factual and informative posts from beta testers. I'm more interested in Bitwig now than a month or two ago.miedex wrote:

I think Bitwig has handled things well. They kept something of a lid on things until it came closer to release time. Even so they have answered many dozens of questions over the past year. They addressed every pertinent question...
Sorry, but thinking that one thread on KVR is a critical indicator for how a new DAW will be received is really myopic...

Sorry, but you have that backwards... there is a cat BONUS!!Tronam wrote:Well, you're forgetting the cat penalty. It dictates the removal of a zero from the final pages total.
