Hi Squids,
I was wondering if there is a place where registered ST users can upload and share sound they have crafted and Combis they have built?
It would be a great way to build community, and another terrific resource for registered ST users.
Just a thought.

Yes, but for patches and combis only... not samples. Patches reference sample data you have to already have in order to use them (at least patches for things like SampleTank 2 for example). So, as an added value sort of thing we've planned for a long time to set up a patch sharing network on www.esoundz.com for members to expand the patch sets of their SampleTank 2's, Sonik Synth 2's, Sonic Stations, Capsules etc. Perhaps when we start carrying some other software instruments soon there will be patch sharing for those as well. Of course we'll participate too with our continued freesoundz support.
The reason we're not allowing samples on there is because it gets more into copyright liability for sound recordings. There's no way to be sure each person is sharing a sample that they in fact made or own the rights to distribute. Plus they are larger in size for downloading/uploading and it's also our main business selling samples so... for all of those reasons and perhaps a few others we won't be having part in sample sharing. But, patches and combis will be quite powerful itself especially since they are something that many people will be able to use if they own SampleTank 2, Sonik Synth 2, Sonic Station and the associated sampler formats.

Oh ya, for sure. But with the effects alone, you can come up with great variations
For example, I recall that you really like the 1920 Upright Piano from Sampletank. I like it to, but I prefer one of it's child sounds, the LoFi upright piano ( come to think of it, I can't remember if it is in St2 by default, or if I made it )...
Same samples, totaly different sounds. The one I am talking about could come straight out of an Amon Tobin or Dj Shadow tune. I used it in one of mine.
It's the beauty of it. With the 32 effects, there are so many different combinations of effects for so many kinds of instruments.
Being able to share great presets is going to save us a lot of time, and inspire us, and it'll be fun!
.
Then you also have the multi's... and man.. euh.. talk about fun..
Looking forward to it..

Hi Guys,
I'll get the stuff together and you guys can then decide if they are "really nice and unique"

Cheers

and we could ask Ben if he'd like to add a SampleTank2 section in the banks/patches area....
would be the easiest, me thinks

Cool... but damm.. I was hoping I had made it myself.. lol
I love that piano sound!
I love "old sounding" stuff...
Now I just need to save the effects on that patch and apply it to other sounds..
Thanks for confirming guys.
