Hi Attila,
yes, I am using the 64-bit versions of Cubase and RapidComposer.
I wouldn't have expected that the issue with the first notes not being played is something that you could solve. Thought this is something Steinberg needs to fix.

I think it is probably an issue in RapidComposer. The same happens in StudioOne.
I will do my best to fix it in the next few days.

Hi yellukhan,
when you drag and drop a chord progression, RapidComposer will try to arrange the chords because the duration (beat count) is not stored with the progression. When there are more chords than bars, it usually assigns a shorter duration for less harmonic chords. But it is very easy to move chord boundaries with the mouse, so that you have the same chords as in Chris's video.

In a next version, not just chord duration, but also the scale(s) will be stored with chord progressions. I realize this is an area that needs improvement.

tiny report of the week

i think this started after i modified the Theme colors.
this buttons doesn't close with inspector
and they are also working so its not just a visual glitch i guess
also ,re open and close inspector fixes this.

VST generates midi data even when 'Preview' is off in Composition window.

I've noticed that even with preview off, I am getting some midi note generation in the VSTi gui. For example, when I am cycling with the host and I go to drag a track in the track header to enlarge it vertically, midi notes are generated when hosted by Cubase 7. These notes appear to sustain, but are not 'stuck,' as as soon as I stop the transport they also stop sounding.

I made a 8 bar phrase with the idea tool. Then made another section 8 bars long. When i tried to copy the phrases to the new 8 bar section RC crashes. tried many times and always a crash.

i discovered a workaround for this. if i glue the phrases before copying it doesnt crash.

Hi

in the edit note (F2) mode when you press to stop twice RC resets visually
according to first track.
here is the procedure
add multiple tracks for example 5, fill track 4 with phrases switch to F2
select the track 4 then maximize track (/) start to edit then press to stop twice.
i am not sure bug or expected behavior,not a big problem also,
but seems a little messy to me.

to me not a big one
but renaming groups via the browser seems not working,
after restart RC group returns to original name,
seems only way to doing this, applying new group path to the phrases in the editor one by one.

It is not possible to rename groups at the moment. The database engine will be reworked either for v2.6 or v2.7 to be more flexible and faster (e.g. indexing, tagging, filtering and searching thousands of soundfonts or VSTi presets).

The update is expected on Tuesday, so it is a bit later than promised, because I implemented a small surprise in the VST plug-in that will improve the workflow, and that many people complained (rightfully) about.

Maybe the small surprise is that the RC window stays always on top? Would be a great surprize. And in time for Christmas.

Yes, that's it!

In addition there will be a 3rd option to embed the user interface in the host-provided window, just like for other normal VST plug-ins.
The latter can be done on Windows only, unfortunately.

Thanks for implementing the always on top option. However, the "embed in the host-provided window" option does not work for me. If I try to use this option, then the RC window dissapears each time when I want to access it (for example if I want to click one of the buttons or tabs). Quite strange behaviour, see the video:
