Cool. Now diva is not trying to be an analogue synth I will be interested. If it really does sound like a nice big phat supersaw that would be great.

Yep… my concept was too ambitious. We need to start over and make it better.andrelafosse wrote:(P.S. - not a complaint AT ALL, just curious: has the step-sequencer been saved for a future upgrade?)

Is it me, or have the fonts changed? They don't seem as clear as they used to be.

Yep, that's entirely possible. On PC they're less blurred now and (finally!) properly spaced. That looks a bit thinner though, which I'm not sure about. On Mac they look the same until Mountain Lion. Ever since ML we somehow have no control over antialiasing anymore, so I'm a bit *arrrgh*. I've planned to use the same font engine on both systems from next year, and make that part of the restructuring of the UI engine.Synthbuilder wrote:Is it me, or have the fonts changed? Great timbre variety with the Digital Osc + the juicy and versatile SVF sound...
..not to forget the arp...
Awesome update, thanks!

this synth will one day be mine...
enjoying the demo...
was it a conscious decision to not include a 'chord' mode in the arp ?? i guess it's not strictly an arp (and maybe it never appeared on any classic synth), but i've always enjoyed using it

Well, what modern arps are is usually "sequencers that also arpeggiate". Arpeggiators on vintage synths never did that.el-bo (formerly ebow) wrote:was it a conscious decision to not include a 'chord' mode in the arp ?? i guess it's not strictly an arp (and maybe it never appeared on any classic synth), but i've always enjoyed using it
Nevertheless, we also had a dedicated sequencer and a chord memory planned for Diva, but it prove to be too ambitious for 2013. We'll revisit that idea, and then there'll be sequenced chords

'chord' function in an arp (not necessarily a seq/arp), which would normally be given as an option along with 'up/down', 'as played', 'random' etc, is a mode where the notes don't actually arppegiate through the notes of the chord. instead, they pulse as one in time with the divisions set by the arp clock. it's kinda like a simple trance gate. both 'alchemy' and 'omnisphere' i know have it, and i'm pretty sure a few others also
also, do you have any plans of extending the arp clock options. triplets and dotted timings can be great to use
this is by no means a complaint, especially seeing as i don't own it (although this update has only made me want it more). but just would love to see it become as great as it can be (within certain bounds of vintage authenticity of course)
cheers

Yes, but as soon as we have chord memory (aka hold) and a sequencer this will be possible without any change to the arpeggiatorel-bo (formerly ebow) wrote:thanks, but that's not what i mean
