Monark is seriously impressive.

Monark and DIVA make a good combo for Moog replacement. Monark does the more aggressive, sizzly side, and DIVA is really good at getting the somewhat more rubbery/round sound I associate with the Little Phattys I used to have (and includes the ability to sweep/blend the oscillator waveshapes like the newer Moogs offer, which Monark, being a Model D emu, does not).

My Minitaur is up for sale. I really have no use for it with the mighty Monark on my system.

Just picked up Monark for $50 via NI's holiday sale. I'm blown away. I have a Voyager which I use as my main hardware synth, and main MIDI controller. When I loaded Monark and first hit a key, I actually jumped out of my chair. It was startling how real it sounded. I thought for sure I'd accidentally clicked something in Ableton and was hearing the Voyager. I had to double check everything before I believed it was really Monark...an hour of A/B testing later, and I'm seriously considering unloading the Voyager.

Audio rate modulation was the one place where I felt that analog had a meaningful advantage over vst, but with Monark I'm no longer sure. The synth can grind two analog style oscillators together with a level of clarity and detail that I've only ever heard from hardware.

I love DIVA as well...but as far as a 1:1 Moog replacement, I am really impressed Monark. Wow.

I think the fact that SW synth development was incremental, we may have missed the chance to finally shout all at once the truth: VST's are sounding like real electronics and it will only get better.

OP-X Pro II is great, too.
yeah its good but its not got the tone/weight of a real OB - Ive compared them side by side. The Osc of OPX have some issues-either too dull or bright mode is fizzy and unnatrual. Its a nice plug tho.

Believe it or not, Arturia SEM V is damn good. Not Monark/Diva/TAL-good (i.e., in terms of emulating), but still really, really good--better than Arturia's other attempts at emulating hardware.
Yup tried that - not bad - but not really there. Not like Monark is.

Personally i like Monark better for this - but whoever tell you that one is better then the other is wrong. You just need to try both and decide for yourself.
