I was hoping they would post pic of the rear so thanks. I hope it hits the shop this week. :)

That's one serious machine for making "one" sound. Building a full kit would really fill up the rack. I bet this can make all sorts of wonderfull drum & bass sounds though, but is it that good that it will offer something a huge drum sample collection doesn't already have? Looking forward to demo it.

Post

I have not tried Parsec, and it may boast a lot more sonic possibilities than I know of. But by the demo sounds and videos I've heard/seen, it doesn't seems to me to do anything that can't be done in "stock" Reason.

Mattias created a short sound design microtutorial for Parsec. Have you had a chance to see it yet?

There's something kind of funny about wanting to see the rear end, but thank you. :hihi: This is looking to be one of the more sophisticated single purpose synthesizers I've seen. It looks like it also will be including an internal sample bank of some kind, possibly to help create different flavors of attack transient.

Hey guys,

Heads-up, Koshdukai just published a new CV tutorial on our site:
http://rackextensionreview.com/control- ... ht-part-1/

This is part of an ongoing series, from beginner to advanced CV usage.

I haven't talked about RackExtensionReview at all here, though I saw a few mentions. So, in case you didn't see that or just thought WTF is that all about, let me give you an idea of what RER is.

The first goal is to make RER a site where high-quality Rack Extension news, reviews, interviews, tutorials are available. We've already started down that path with some good articles by a variety of writers. More is in the pipeline, as well as some video content.

Secondly, with the closing of PUF, we added a forum to RER so people could meet and chat with like-minded Reason users. The commenting system is tied into the forum so that whether you comment on an article, or write a post in the forum - they all are organized in the same thread. Frankly, it's cool.

I love KVR - been a poster since 2003 as you can see. I totally understand why lots of you want to hang out here. But stop by and have a look at RER - lots of familiar faces there and some good discussion! No flamewars so far either :)

Post

I'll check it out Jeremy. Thanks for the heads up. I can't recall PUF being down for this long, so it's great to have an alternate venue for news/chat/content with likeminded folks. You shouldn't have mentioned the F-word though. That may very well have jinxed things!

I checked it out; it's pretty cool. That said, and don't take this the wrong way - but I don't care for the forum format. Print is too small. Also, how the hell do I get my avatar on my forum profile?? :) Other than that, it's a great start. I'll try and visit more.

*Edit: scratch that whole "print is too small" statement. I just realized I've been viewing KVR at 150% in Chrome - LOL! I've gotten so used to the large font size I forgot I had it scaled up. I just scaled rackextensionreview's font size up in Chrome as well, and it looks fine. :hihi:

No flamewars?!? Let me pack up my bags!

Hey,

Thanks for checking out RER! So you are saying you're ok with the font size then? I think it's pretty comparable to standard sizes here or at PUF.

On setting your avatar - check the sticky post in the General forum. Wordpress uses Gravatar. It's kind of a weird system if you haven't used it before, I do realize...

I should also mention that I'm hoping to improve the forum system over time. I'm not 100% happy with the post editor at the moment. So I'm working on it. Let me know if you see anything else you'd like changed/tweaks and I'll add it to the list.

Ah cool - just saw that post and got the avatar thing settled. Nice! As for font size - yeah it seems to be in line with every other forum. Works fine. I just never realized I've been using the zoom feature in Chrome for so long - I have large monitors (dual 26") and regular font size is microscopic!

Nice to see somebody take responsibility for the community :).
If I should give some feedback about the forums, I would say that there's too much air in the posts. I've got a 24" monitor (1920x1200) and all I get is 4 single sentences posts on the screen at the same time. I would compress the design a lot, like the posts here on KVR. Too much free space and too big avatars for my taste.
Nitpicking, I know. :)
I will definitely add the site to my checklist.

Yes, I do feel like I could have angered some internet gods with that statement... What was I thinking :-o

Shutting down the PUF for security reasons and designing a new one isn't taking responsibility?

Well I use a 27" monitor @ 1920 1200 and it looks great.

I enjoy the spacing and the less cluttered feel.

No reason to fill every square inch with ads, links and other distracting things.

The text in the forum is on par with others.

The spacing in between articles provides a sense of organization and cleanliness.

Thanks for your hard work and energy adding positivity to the PUF community.

Seriously? My post was supposed to be positive. The feedback on the spacing is my opinion of course, not a request for them to do anything. Sorry for forgetting to put in all the "my 2c" and winky smileys...
