Gospel Musicians' UVI libraries no longer require the use of an iLok dongle in order to authorize.

With the advent of the Pace's new Eden system, it is now possible to authorize licenses to your computer or iLok. Existing customers can still use their iLoks in order to authorize and future purchases will allow the choice to authorize via computer or iLok.

With the iLok License Manager, you can view your account, and add licenses to your iLok or machine. You can move your licenses between iLoks and machine as well. Legacy customers will have to continue using their iLok, but new purchases will allow machine authorizations.M5 users will not be able to authorize via machine until an "possible" update is made available.

Currently all UVI supported libraries are on sale until after Christmas.

Attention: Neo-Soul Keys UVI Customers

Neo-Soul Keys® is now updated to version 3.2, which adds a mastering section.

does the eden system allow authorization to more than one computer? laptop and desktop for example???

You can move licenses between devices. Are you asking, can you activate the same license on two machines at the same time? Are you trying to use two machines at the same time? If that is the question, then the answer is no, but you can easily transfer the license between machines.

Say for example you are using the plugin in your studio and you iMac is activated and authorized. Now you want to finish the track on your Macbook Pro, you can transfer those licenses to your MBP to finish your track.

But you can't authorize two machines at the same time on one license.

Hey dayjob....Thanks for the inquiry!

Just out of curiosity, in what scenario would you ever need to authorize two computers at the same time, or use two computers at the same time?

The transfer takes a few seconds. I just tested it out after you asked.

Interesting topic - I have tons of iLok on dongle but am going away over Christmas and would like to load my laptop up with stuff using the cloud activation and not take the dongle with me. What happens with this scenario: I activate my laptop via cloud but accidentally drop the laptop into the pool - after it was activated. Can I log back on my desktop and deactivate other machines (e.g. the dead laptop)? Or am I stuffed for good?

Acousticsamples.net also doesn't require an ilok anymore..

In this case, you would probably have to talk to the developers to be able to "release" the authorization and then transfer it back. I can't speak for UVI, but I'm pretty sure they would be pretty accommodating in this situation.

if CPU gets clobbered on the desktop i sometimes sync the laptop up to it and use it like an other midi synth/fx box etc.

i may be in the minority w/that though.. also, i'm one of those people who just can't be bothered to log in -> swap license -> log out every time i want to do something on a different computer w/same software.

but it's cool. i think it's really a nice thing to offer easy license authorization via software and w/o a dongle.

Eastwest still requires a ilok.

Yes, fine, but still the new Pace software is required, right?

No way I'm going to risk my stable 10.6.8 by soiling it with that sh-t, sorry.

If it were easy, anybody could do it!

yeah.. that's the other hang up.

i wonder if w/o the dongle some plug ins still take forever to launch when you instantiate them on a track in a DAW?

i remember pretty much every iLok plug in i had would take a long time to load.. seemed to speed up after i had a few loaded but still slower than plug ins that used other copy protection methods.

Oh no...that is the old, old system. Plugins load up just as fast as the others.
