So the Propellerhead's forum is down. Post in here if you normally post there.

Hey kae,
Thanks for checking out RER and giving me some feedback!
I hear what you are saying with extra whitespace between posts. I'll keep that in mind as a possibility, but our entire theme uses a bit more space like that - see the main blog page re: space between articles. It personally hasn't bothered me at 1920x1080 on 27" but with short posts I can see how it could seem like an excessive amount of space.
Avatars - I doublechecked and it appears they were bigger at PUF! But obviously, yeah here at KVR avatars have never even been possible to my knowledge.
It's a bit of a balancing act. I have to find the balance of taking some attributes of successful communities like KVR and PUF and mesh that with the fact that I want RER to have it's own distinct identity. And then the final compromise is the fact that I'm not a web designer and I somehow hacked RER together myself and I don't want to break it now

If I should give some feedback about the forums, I would say that there's too much air in the posts. I've got a 24" monitor (1920x1200) and all I get is 4 single sentences posts on the screen at the same time. I would compress the design a lot, like the posts here on KVR. Too much free space and too big avatars for my taste.
Nitpicking, I know.
I will definitely add the site to my checklist.

Agree. And it looks good, I didn't mean to imply anything elseJeremy_NSL wrote:It's a bit of a balancing act. Thanks for visiting RER and the feedback dfr! (can I call you dfr?)
You touched on something important I should mention. There are no ads on RER whatsoever. That is very much an intentional choice. Let's face it, Adblock is a fact of life - especially in the tech sphere where computer music producers reside.
How the hell will you support the site and pay your writers you might ask? Well, I have some (perhaps innovative) ideas for the future but none of them involve flash ads, full background ads or random Google ads offering Viagra or debt refinancing. We'll see how it pans out, but I'm hopeful to have a sustainable, busy site featuring great articles, with zero or minimal ads.

Well I use a 27" monitor @ 1920 1200 and it looks great.
I enjoy the spacing and the less cluttered feel.
No reason to fill every square inch with ads, links and other distracting things.
The text in the forum is on par with others.
The spacing in between articles provides a sense of organization and cleanliness.
Thanks for your hard work and energy adding positivity to the PUF community.

Are you running AdBlock or Ghostery? If so, maybe you need to create an exception for KVR?Jeremy_NSL wrote:Hmm, my browser is not loading those for some reason. I see them in the screenshot but not in my browser... Yup, Firefox is loading them ok. What the hell, Chrome?
Also, try clearing your browser cache..

Well for me the product is great. Reason is awesome. And I have not had any issues with it. HOWEVER...C+C+ wrote:Forum iz down 4 too long , if not back in Jan I buy FL and never go back on the PUF
There is MUCH to be said about losing a forum that was highly supported by regular users that gave me great ideas, feedback, and help on specific REs and sounds, including tossing me their patches when I was looking for something.
And today they Instagram-ed their party...I really feel like these cats should get back on the game and get their forum back up.
No for me on the FL, heh.

I'm sure it will return, but I have a feeling they're taking this opportunity to make some bigger changes to it and uncouple its login authentication system from the shop.

FL Studio 64 bit or the return of the PUF?
Bonus question, before or after 2014?

After. I suppose they have a right to their Xmas party and all that but for the love of God could somebody at least tell us what the plan is? Is there a plan? Do they know they're possibly losing out on holiday money because people don't have an official forum to ask questions about their products?dramaticforumrat wrote:Place your bets, who will be first.C+C+ wrote:Forum iz down 4 too long , if not back in Jan I buy FL and never go back on the PUF
